Well it's all relative you see....for example a bucket full of ice cubes (either the rapping or the frosty kind) can defeat a trashcan fire, however a single ice cube (of either kind) will be sublimated inside a steel mill.

The specific heat capacity of water (main ingredient in both ice cubes) is 1 cal
The specific heat capacity of iron (main ingredient in steel) is 0.1 cal - so far water is ahead 10:1
Melting point of iron is 1538 C
A vat of ice (at 0 c) would lower the temperature of an equal size vat of molten iron by 1000 c by the time it evaporated (100 c).


So to lower that molten steel back to room temperature, you'd need a vat and a half of ice cubes, I prefer the rapping kind! Get photoshopping!
