I had a conversation by pm with him on 13th May and he said he is still in the game, but I haven't heard from him since. Let's give him until the deadline this time before subbing, and if I don't hear from him between this turn and next I'll appoint a new player (I have someone in reserve)

Edit: 2000 posts in this thread w00t!

Sorry, things have been tough not having an internet connection at home. I'd been working the past five days and had trouble finding time to visit someone with an internet connection.

I can indeed play my turn, at least by the end of tomorrow. I understand if that's too late.

Getting that save onto a thumb drive right now to take home to play.

Just noticed the link to the patches doesn't lead to the right place anymore. Looks like they changed the first post of that thread by adding a link to BC 1.05 (looks like we'll need a new hotseat after this one. :beam:).

Thanks for the heads-up

Actually the 1.05 patch is compatible with our hotseat (I know this because I tried it out)

What won't be compatible is version 1.5 which is due out any time now and adds new factions, changes to the AOR and all sorts of other goodies.

By the time we're done with this hotseat we'll probably all be playing mind-controlled hologramatic games in 3D, so I wouldn't worry about needing a new one..

Are you going to join the SS6.2 game? I am..

All done, Samarqand is now in the hands of the Ghazims. Just a little problem...

Every time I try to upload, I get this message:

Have there been problems with the ORG uploader lately?

Is there another place I can upload the file? I can also email it...

Open question on the subject of hording.

Zim has taken the last settlement of the Shah and the faction has gone into horde mode, with several free stacks.

I have a few questions:

1) Is this fair on Zim (ie. should I remove the stacks?)
2) Is it fair if it happens to a human-controlled faction? (ie. should that faction be declared dead and the extra stacks removed?)
3) If we allow it for human factions, what happens if they, for example, take one settlement, lose it and get even more horde stacks? It would seem to me to be easy to exploit that.

I want everyone's views on this please so I can make a ruling in each case.

thanks!

Delete the stacks. They are there to prevent the player from steam rolling in single player campaigns, but human intelligence does that job better. DELETE THE STACKS!

Not all factions can horde, so why remove one of the few advantages they have?

I like that answer best. (Especially because certain human factions can horde even in SP, suggesting it's an intentional feature, not just a scripting thing meant for the AI like the extra Roman and Turkish stacks at the beginning of the game.)

Any objections to that?

I'll go with the majority, but I rather dislike the 'horde' concept when applied to human (Or formerly human) players. If your armies are wiped out you should not get an auto-spawn of more troops out of thin air.

I took the opportunity to switch the Shah back to human control so I can intervene on their next turn and send them on a surfing trip. I can't remember when in the turn order they pop up, so please send me a pm to let me know its their turn and I'll jump in..

Unfortunately only two of their three stacks are headed by a family member, which means I can't kill the captain-led stack..so there'll one left for Zim to deal with, which will turn rebel when I kill their FMs.

Unless anyone else pipes up with a suggestion, I'm going to use the 'one-stack' rule going forward for hording factions, whether human or AI-controlled.

Rajputs (http://rapidshare.com/files/239125540/BC-37-08.rar.html)

I've destroyed the armies laying siege to Kolachee, Devapala Castle and Kuch as well as those besieging the two little forts. No survivors. Sukkur has fallen and been exterminated which also led to the death of the Crown Prince.

Ghorids are now down to 4 cities (3 in Sindh, 1 in India). They are very weak overall, but their position seems relatively stable for now. It all really depends on what Ramses does on his turn.

I've offered a ceasefire and the trade of Pindi and Kuch for Mansura and Bela, though I doubt Ramses will accept.

The Ghorids are still very much in the game, but if I were them, I wouldn't be making long term plans. Not yet anyways. They could very well make a comeback, but it'll take an incredibly skilled player and perhaps one or two mistakes which I'm not sure Ramses will make.

Sooooo that's that.

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_OVSGmv5sLg4/SiM2uK0b1RI/AAAAAAAASvs/KVaTM8Bj-ic/s800/0001.jpg

I just had too many spies and assassins in the end, and seeing the first extermination of a city in the conflict to date left me in a mood to spend their lives like pennies. :laugh4:

It was luck too though. The spy I had left in Sukkur had a 24% chance of opening the gates and couldn't even tell me what troops were present in the city, but he came through and I had an easy autocalc victory to finish off Sultan whatever the Godfearer. We were both pretty short on family members with the strange adoption failures lately, and I'd kept one hidden back at the city that started the Ghorid war, Thanesar, just in case.

After the Sultan fell I was able to recapture the other Sindh cities from the rebels with ease. So...

The Ayyubids are up:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/jfmm0gmyxya/BC-37-09.zip

And gg to all my sundry Ghorid opponents. I thought EF had me on the ropes for the first 3-4 turns of the war, but he never really delivered the knock-out blow and I managed an end run that turned the tables at last. After Tristan took over I knew what kind of player he was, so I immediately started training spies and assassins, and would've started the war myself the very turn he got the ability to train his own assassins. Then it was just a matter of grinding away his spies with my superior production ability. Soldiers were nearly irrelevant.

I'll post something in the diplomacy thread, and see if I can figure a story out about the reclamation of India. :2thumbsup:

The Ghorids died when the Sultan died? You didn't take the fort and Kush as well? There still wa 2 other family members.

Oh well. I had a feeling something like that would happen. The Ghorids had the fighting power, but in terms of spies, they were badly overwhelmed. My last story post will stand as their final collapse then.

Hmmm, can't we maybe give Cultured Drizzt fan the Kypchacks? They're not exactly in a position of power, but they're not facing extermination either. Well... it puts the Romans in a tough spot as many of my cities border their realm, but it could be an option if we want to.

Ramses II CP
06-01-2009, 04:32
Oh no, I took Kutch and that fort first. I had 7 assassins near the fort, meant for the assault on Pindi, and probably 15 spies in range. I lost 3 spies there and I think 2 assassins, though it was just the freshly trained ones. I think Kutch still had a spy or two in it from when it was mine too, but I had two assassins over there as well, and quite a lot of spies around. It's hard to clean them all out unless you have a high anti-spy family member sit in there 2-3 turns.

I mentioned this to EF during our fighting too, but FYI you can attack ships that are at port. You just move over next to them, click your own ships, select them all in the 'troop list' square, and click to attack like normal. One of the quirky mechanics of the MTWII engine.

I don't know if it was ever definitively proven, but there was a lot of talk about agents being bugged to succeed at a higher rate than their shown percentage when Broken Crescent first came out. My experience suggests that this is probably true (I made a 31% infiltration and got that 24% gate openining this year), but sometimes you have turns like my last one too, where I lost 2 good spies on supposedly 95% infiltrations.

I'll make the same offer to any opponent that I did to EF; once the war is over my password is the same in all hotseats and always publically available (456789) so you're welcome to play the save and try out any battles or infiltrations for yourself. I'm not going to be offended in the slightest, all of us from The Org's first hotseat were victims of a cheater and IMHO hotseat play is only possible if you have trust and a good admin. MTWII is just to broken and too easily exploited for competitive play to work otherwise.

Agents are definitely screwy. In my experience, in a particular turn you either have a total shutout, or mostly everything goes right for you, regardless of percentages. barca made huge strides into anatolia one turn and took about four cities. Then rossahh did the same thing to me, taking back the whole of the Levant in one turn, then Quirl had a good run and killed King Baldwin. It's a level playing field for everyone I guess...

Hmmm, can't we maybe give Cultured Drizzt fan the Kypchacks?

I've said before I think the Kypchaks are too far gone for a human player, but I'm not going to veto it if people want it to happen. I seem to remember Flax and barca voted against it last time, so unless they've changed their minds I think we leave them as they are.

thats actually pretty hilarious!

barcamartin

The spies are definitely dodgy. Through this hotseat, I knocked the Khwarezm real bad in just one turn, with extreme luck with my spies. And as you mention monkey, pushed way into Anatolia. Other turns though, all plans have been screwed due to several experienced spies all failing at infiltrations, despite having very high chances of succeeding. But whatever, do like Lemon did it, build catapults and you're sure to succeed. ;)

And regarding the Kypchaks, I won't veto against it, but it would sure change things (might benefit me, might not). I think the situation in the region is a bit precarious as it is, and another human player could turn the table a lot, probably too much. But if Flaxy and the rest of you don't mind, let them in I guess.

TheFlax

Ramses II CP
06-01-2009, 22:24
Similarly I have no stake in a Kypchak player coming in or not, so I'll go with the majority. I'm generally in favor of bringing in more players, but the AI does some funny stuff as the Kypchaks. You might not have much of a nation to take over, or you might come in and find they have 20k florins in the bank and 4 stacks sitting around.

:egypt:

phonicsmonkey

Tell you what, why don't I take a look at them while I'm drowning Khwarezms and see how they're placed. Then Cultured Drizzt fan can make an informed decision about whether he wants them or not. The only mechanical problem with the Kypchaks being human is that they get a bunch of free stacks for 'uniting the steppes'. If that happened I would need to destroy them to be fair to the other players.

Also, I'm for the Kypchaps coming in if Lemongate, Barca, and The Flax are. I think they would be very a unique and enjoyable faction to play. They were basically mercenaries historically, and if the A.I. did incur any debt for them, they could just as easily pay it off by being mercenaries in the hotseat, too. Such stuff would definitely spice up the game. :2thumbsup:

I doubt that'll happen at all. One of my early moves was to prevent the uniting of the steppes and I will be even more adamant in keeping my little northern outposts if there's a human in control up there - barca will probably make sure to keep his little foothold up there as well.

Which brings us to a second point:

That sounds like a lot of fun, selling my warriors to the highest bidder, perhaps some wars Via proxy. we will conquer not for land, but for GOLD!!!!!

I can't believe you actually thought you guys managed to bankrupt me with your sleazy loan shark scam of the early turns. I was getting 3k per turn from the Ayyubids at the time. Free. I can't remember if Jerusalem didn't give me some then as well.

The Brotherhood of the Faithful was involved in a pyramid scheme? I must have missed this when I used to follow this game from the sidelines...

This is the real story.

ATPG (playing the Turks and at war with Rome) offered everyone in the game 300% interest on any loans made to finance his war effort.

We thought this was a great idea and offered the same deal to Lemon (playing Rome) in an attempt to drain the resources of both sides and extend the war, weakening both.

I'd say it worked in the short term - when Merlox took over the faction from Lemon the Romans were in fact bankrupt (check the story thread and council thread for proof). And I know the Turks had financial problems paying off the loans too.

I used it to finance the great jihad, which went quite well until we all caught the plague and I lost ALL my trade income.

EDIT: Just to be clear, the idea was never to permanently bankrupt the ERE or the Turks. That would be impossible. Just to get an economic headstart on them. And I think it worked. Certainly Oman did quite well out of the deal.

I'd say it worked in the short term - when Merlox took over the faction from Lemon the Romans were in fact bankrupt (check the story thread and council thread for proof).

Whooooaaaaa! Hold yer horses there. Merlox went bankrupt because the huge armies I was holding in reserve, financed mostly through Ayyubid donnations were draining imperial coffers.

These armies were supposed to be waiting on the Georgian shore for Caliphate forces that I was goading to attack Georgia and the Turks - not wandering the friggin' steppes. Or being disbanded.

Disbanding those armies was like putting the empire 10 turns back. Even now, I don't have the armies that were built for that fight (it was 6 stacks strong of mostly light spearmen + kypchack/armenian mercs, 1 catapult per stack and a few elite mercenaries like latin knights and varangian warriors).

That mostly explains why the Empire collapsed on the initial Caliphate/Seljuk offensive.

I was trying to have the Turks and the Seljuks/Abbasids fighting each other while I pushed everyone out of Anatolia.

The plan was quite simple: 1 half-stack on Turkish Sinope, 1 half-stack on Georgian Trapezon, 1 half-stack on Georgian or Caliphate Ani, 1 half-stack on Georgian or Caliphate Kutaisi, 1 stack on Turkish Iconion, 1 stack pushing towards Ankyra (would've taken 2 turns to reach + capture), 1 stack landing in Jerusalem, moving up the coast sacking latin holdings (the Turks had Antioch at the time), 1 stack in reserve either in or near Cilicia in case latins had a crusade popping up). There were also assorted cheap troops and levies in the westernmost settlements (Constantinople and cie). It was a 1 turn gamble. What happened after that I couldn't predict. And I note that Banzai having joined the jihad, it would have screwed a few things up.

I lost my computer, that plan went FUBAR. Merlox had no way to know what was going on. To him, it was just plenty of mediumish armies milling about in friendly territory costing waaaaay too much considering he wasn't getting the Ayyubid money (wasn't a tribute, it was a renewable offer every turn - he gave me more some turns, around 6000 twice I think).

phonicsmonkey
06-02-2009, 07:23
Interesting plan - I would never have attacked the Turks, it just wasn't in my interest.

I told you guys I could get the Coalition out of the way so you could attack them with impunity. I told you this knowing that the Coalition was full of my Brotherhood cohorts and the only ones there who weren't on my side were Georgia and the Rajputs. So all I had to do was neutralise Georgia and then I could let you do my dirty work for me by taking out the Turks.

It all went to plan from my perspective, and you would have been waiting a long time for me to attack you because I had no plan to do so at that stage.

Anyway, like I said, the plan with the loan deal wasn't to permanently bankrupt you (impossible) but to get ahead of you economically - and even if it didn't work because someone else was giving you money to offset it, I made a fat stack of cash out of you and ATPG while you fought each other, and was able to invest it in infrastructure that gave me the best economy in the game (until the plague set me back ten years).

I still have all those buildings, I just have no population anymore; but I'm seeing the green shoots of recovery in the Caliphate!

The Lemongate
06-02-2009, 07:45
No not Abbasids vs Seljuks, rather Abbasids/Seljuks vs Georgia/Turks and throw the Latins into the mix. Had you done nothing, the Turks would. Though it's true you probably made some 15k to 20k off the Anatolian War.

Still, all in all, Armenia and the Turkish Sultanate are dead and all of Anatolia is mine. My only regret is that my war against rossahh has only netted me Cyprus and Aleppo. Should've planned that better. Win some, lose some I guess.

but I'm seeing the green shoots of recovery in the Caliphate!

Why was it then, Mr Lemongate, that I had to march 2 stacks into Anatolia to get rid of the Turks without any Roman support if you had left troops here, there and everywhere for Merlox to use? Did he disband them all on his first turn or something?

You shouldn't of attacked the only other nation with a navy in the Med. Oops on your part.

CDf (you don't mind if I call you CDf do you?) - take a look and within 48 hours either play the turn and upload for the next guy, or let me know if you don't like the look of it.

Zim, I couldn't move those pesky Khwarezms (something to do with internal names and hereditary titles) so instead I disbanded everything except one stack. There are two FMs left, sorry.

Ok, I'm going to ask a series of stupid questions now, try not to be offended:

- 1: Have you unzipped the save game file?
- 2: Did you put it in the correct (Medieval 2 Total War/broken crescent/saves) folder?
- 3: Does it appear in your save game menu in-game?
- 4: What happens when you try to load it?
- 5: Have you tried downloading and uncompressing it again in case it was corrupted in the process the first time?
- 5: Have you successfully loaded M2TW save games before from PBM or hotseat games?
- 6: Have you tried dl'ing and loading any other save game files from this game?
- 7: What version of M2TW are you running the mod on?

And finally:

- 8: Have you tried reinstalling the mod and the patch?

Oh and personnally I had problems when BC and SS where in the same Medieval folder. So I've got 2 seperate folders for the mods.

And, have you installed, all of the other mini-patches from this (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=142288) thread? There's like 5 or 6 of them if you go down the thread.

Since we're discussing our early strategy mine was dead simple; negotiate with the Ghorids to keep Delhi in AI hands (The AI has a population growth bonus critical to getting Delhi to citadel quickly) until my economy gets rolling. The Ghorids have every advantage in the early game; larger armies, better economy, cheaper troops and structures, first in the turn order (For mercs and forced retreats), etc. so I knew the longer I could make him wait the better. He hit me early enough that I offered him that all or nothing MP battle, but not so early that my starter castle didn't have anything built. EF dramatically underestimated the utility of spies, and the quantity that he would need, so while he had a potential production advantage (I could barely make the replacement rate on spies) he failed to take advantage of it.

He also had RL issues, needed subs, and etc. which scattered out his strategy and slowed him down until I had recovered enough to sneak around, capture a few AI settlements, and get back in the game.

phonicsmonkey
06-04-2009, 01:19
there's no separate hotseat option

all you have to do is extract the save game file into your Medieval/broken crescent/saves folder, then either hit 'Continue game', or use 'Load game' and select it from the menu

when you're done with your turn, hit 'end turn' and wait for the password screen to come up for the next faction, save the game, zip the file, upload it, post the link and pm the next guy in line

enjoy!

I do apologise my good sir, my mistake. Isn't it funny how we all hated xp for all the obvious reasons, until Vista showed up and proved just how crappy an operating system can be? My wife's laptop came with it preinstalled and it's had nothing but problems.

barcamartin

I haven't had any problems with my Vista 64-bit, except the lack of drivers for my wireless network card. XP is already forgotten.

Ramses II CP
06-08-2009, 16:03
I didn't install XP until after Service Pack 1 cleaned up the worst of the garbage. I was perfectly content with Win98, in my memory it's still the best gaming OS I've run because I could strip it down to nearly nothing in terms of resources and it'd still run clean.

Vista can't be fixed. Frankly MS agrees, even if only on PR grounds, hence Win7. I know Vista is acceptable for some people, but simply the way user accounts are handled breaks it entirely for me. I think maybe I'm just too old. I actually put an Ubunutu live install on a flash drive just so I could avoid using Vista boxes when I can't take my laptop with me, and I'm not much of a linux geek.

Question:

Why was it then, Mr Lemongate, that I had to march 2 stacks into Anatolia to get rid of the Turks without any Roman support if you had left troops here, there and everywhere for Merlox to use? Did he disband them all on his first turn or something?

Answer:

The Roman deletage sighs, and stands up so every one can hear at the table.

Attention All, News has come that Prince Nevolous, That the once great empire of Rome is now Financially Collapsed. The Great Depression of Constantinople is effecting the Roman's will to fight. Also, Will be disbanding most of the militaries stationed in Jerusalem. The Roman Armies will be disbanded from the Jerusalem Area. That being said, Rome will be giving back control to it's Former ruler, King Baldwin of Damascus. We are now prouncing that the King Baldwin's new and former title, King of Jerusalem.

The Debt being well around 4k addition every "turn". We have no choice but to stay Neutral in the war between the Turks and the Crusading states. He is now tasked to help remove the The Great Depression of Constantinople, If any nations are willing to help, We do not know how we will repay you, but, the Prince will be most kindly accepting...

The Roman Delegate would sit down.

He also proceeded in "conquering the steppes" and wasted I don't know how many troops there.

Most of what I had built was in Crimea (Rus Swordsmen and Kypchack Auxilia) or milling around Nikeae (Light Spearmen).

And there was still a sizeable Roman army when I returned to the game, and with a few more mercs, they got the job done of freeing Anatolia and springing Jerusalem and Georgia out of vassalship.

But these are all things of the past. The present situation is equally interesting and equally tense. Will we cold war it or will we jump at each other's throats? Time will tell.

Slaughter all Caliphate forces in the region and tying them up in Anatolia? It doesn't take away anything from your spectacular 10 cities in 1 turn reconquest or the fact that I backstabbed you 2 turns later but it certainly made it easier on you and allowed Jerusalem to reclaim it's lands before the awaited european crusaders.

I think it's a hotseat thing to do with the turn order, and that if they have been kicked out of someone else's city earlier that same turn you can't use them.

Bit like if one of your armies is attacked by another player whose turn is earlier in the turn order, is defeated and withdraws, you won't have any movement points left for that army when it's your turn.

In SP you are always first in the turn order so it isn't ever an issue.

Make sense?

Oh, that.

Personally I think the use of the word 'slaughter' is a bit excessive.

As far as I remember we traded armies somewhat, and most of my losses to the Romans were territorial rather than personnel.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good bit of self-aggrandizement though, eh?

He did tie me up though, forcing me to divert troops from the Levant and take my eye off the rossahh-shaped ball...

Maybe it is towards the Caliphate - I did kill way more Seljuks then Abbasids. Territorialy the Seljuk fought back harder, but lost more men. But the Seljuk never sent reinforcements. You did, and sent them pretty far from the Levant, in the Ani/Erzurum/Trebizond region.

But at this point, Seljuk or Abbasid, it's all pretty much one and the same. Barca would've probably helped in the Levant if he hadn't been tied up North as well.

rossahh
06-18-2009, 12:20
They still had one whole army in the Levant that needed to be dealt with by me. That was a pivotal and massive battle (and was touch and go) yet only occurred because this game is so buggy.

As far as I can tell, the AI would have more of a fighting chance because of its cash bonus. Me, I'm just pressing turn. Been like that for a while. I'm having a blast I tell you. At least writing about zombies was fun and heck, it was IC if not pseudo-historical. Seems the monkey doesn't approve though so I'll be a nice little :daisy: and enjoy the glow of his "positive reinforcement" PMs.

Maybe the Avidids can fight back. I don't know and I don't care. He's neither been my ally nor my lackey, a concept the Seljuk seem to be intimitely acquainted with. However, he's not trying to eat my face off.

I'll be waiting for you in Siwa once you've finished your mighty conquest of Anatolia. Come pay me a visit!

Lemon,

I'm really very sorry that you are so angry about what has happened.

I can assure you that there is nothing personal in this from either me or barca, and that we are honestly just playing the game the best way we can, in order to try and win.

I hope you can see that and not take this personally and let it ruin your enjoyment of this or any other game that we're all involved in.

barca and I have been allies in this game since turn one and this has been no secret for some time now, although for IC reasons it was a secret at the start. Our actions have always been in accordance with a long-term strategic plan we developed at the outset (a plan which was derailed somewhat by your stunning successes in repelling our previous invasion!)

I'm also truly sorry that you have not been having fun in the game recently, although from what you say below it seems to me this is largely due to in-game reasons (ie. the decline in power of your faction.)

I honestly can't see that we have done anything out of line or unfair towards you.

Please don't mistake in-game duplicity for RL antagonism - I thought we were all internet friends here, having played this game together for so long in such a good spirit.

I'll remind you that the only thing I asked of you in our recent PM conversation was that anything you do in game you should try to ensure you can justify it IC, for the sake of immersion and the enjoyment of other players.

You are, of course, free to disregard that and play your faction in any way you choose. For the record, I have no problem with your planned handover of territory to Quirl - not that this should make any difference.

I posted this here because I thought that as GM I have a responsibility to try to deal with this situation publicly, but if you want to continue the conversation let's do it by PM.

let's do it by PM.

No.

I'm not angry. Stating that I'll try to invade you as Hungary or Jerusalem or wherever else, take it or leave it. That's both my right and also stupid which is mainly why, though I posted it, I won't do it. What's more, it's in the game as such even if I did do it, it would remain just a game.

And as far as I see it, I haven't attacked anyone personally. Or please prove me wrong. If I've been less then cordial in posts, you've both been less then cordial through PMs. That is as far as it goes.

I'm glad!

No, you haven't.

So, we're all still mates?

Wha- But yes!

Doesn't mean I might not attempt a crack at you in another game even if it would be a random and stupid move.

Oh and note that I didn't slay the Holy Roman Emperor, Frederick Barbarossa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_I_Barbarossa) (Frederick of Germany in the game, and either Prince or King of Jerusalem at the moment). I killed Frederick von Swabia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_VI,_Duke_of_Swabia) (Frederick of Swabia in the game)

My mistake, I have fixed it - thanks!

hi guys- re: Oman, I have not heard from navarro951 since he did not show up for his last turn and it had to be subbed, although I have pm'd him.

If I don't hear from him by the time the deadline is up for his next turn, I'll have to make a decision whether to find another player or turn the faction over to AI.

I have asked Lemon (who subbed the last turn) for his opinion (without giving me details of their situation) on whether they are viable for a human player to take over.

Omanis! :beam:

I think we should wait for Navajaro for at least another turn. I think he's probably gone, too. But it's still a little hasty to drop a player who has only been absent for one turn (even if he can't be reached over PM).

Georgia is up. (http://rapidshare.com/files/253652587/BC-41-02.rar.html)

And now I'll have to go write a small AAR: the Seljuks are coming! the Seljuks are coming! Take only what you need and go seek refuge in the West!

I wish I had time to write anything anymore in the story thread. But I'm too busy right now. I kinda left the Man in Black there hanging around in my stories. :sweatdrop:

He was actually going to represent fate and how even though the Egyptians postponed their defeat by the Latins, fate decreed they would fall and, in the end, their struggles only postponed the inevitable. The Man in Black was going to be a somewhat mystical figure, without actually being explicitly mentioned to be as such (kind of like Randall Flagg in Stephen King's The Stand.) I, of course, had a back up story for the Man in Black just in case I won the war with rossah; but I got so into the story of me losing that it made the other story seem boring, so I just put off writing it. And now I'm too busy. :inquisitive: Oh well.

Bad news guys - rossahh is definitely out of the game, his computer broken beyond repair.

Commiserations rossahh! You are a great of the game, hope to cross swords with you again some time, somewhere...thanks for the memories, and for the plague!

Ramses will sub this turn and I'll look for a replacement.
