Well, I just wanted to say hi to everyone:yes:
I used to visit the official CA forums on a regular base and posted from time to time, my username there was Joker II.
I actually never liked ezboards but went there as you get accustomed to certain individuals there and it becomes a habbit. Thing was that since they (CA) moved over to Yuku or whatever it's called, I had problems in logging in, simple things that shouldn't be a problem, the atmosphere and posts overthere also degraded substantially and manny of the regulars either didn't show up anymore or decided to stop posting due to there own personnal reasonsn.
Therefore, I decided to search for another, more friendly user forum and heared about this place. HOpe to be around here for manny more years to come as I love the TW-series and have but the outmost admiration for the CA-team :juggle2:

Hello everyone! Its been over 5 years since I decided to experiment with mtw modding and creating 2002's best campaign mod: Patrician. In fact it's been so long I have forgotten how to mod the total war series of games but it will come back to me. I am currently playing Rome Total War 1.5 single player campaigns again and plan on doing a little unit tweaking just so I can keep Gaul under control. :wall: Its good to see the lords are still arround after all these years. Everything I learned about modding Medieval Total War I learned from here and I thank you all for it.:charge:
Welcome to the Org, earl of shrewsbury and Frederick_I_Barbarossa! And a hearty "welcome back" to King_David as well. :medievalcheers:

heya people,
im wondering what do i do if i want to get a post of mine edited, can you guys point me to the right place
also, im wondering about the "chance of success" thing for agents, specifically if it works the same way for assasins and merchants and what does that percentage mean. So far it seems to me that its rather a fixed thing that im hitting against - ... hmm... a fixed value? not sure how to put it... - over and over again (f.ex. i cant get that one merchant to work at 34% chance untill i move some of my other units and try again) rather than trying the same thing with the same chance of success over and over again or if im just too impatient from all the beer :laugh4: . i'd appreciate it if you direct me to where i can educate myself on this
thanks in advance

Hi and welcome phunkbot,
May I suggest you ask the M2:TW veterans in the Citadel (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=131), perhaps they can help you out with your query.
Sadly, you cannot edit your posts until you are a full member, all you have to do is get yourself noticed by the great staff, the veiled assassins, in a good way, and you will be promoted in no time! Good luck with your promotion, cheers!

Hi everyone! I'm a big MTW fan and I'm new here. I haven't played very extensively . . . I've only played 5 or 6 campaigns and I've only done the real-time battle mode about 3 times. It's an awesome game, though, and my favorite faction is definitely the Byzantines.

Thanks guys! I'm not at the point yet where I can get better results from actually fighting at the battles, so for that reason and to save time I just usually click "Automatically Resolve" and instead focus on building my empire to the point where I always have the men necessary to win battles that way. Anyway it's a great game; I do have one question though. With all the mods floating around, is there anybody who's yet come up with a way to allow multiplayer on the campaign mode? That's the one thing that keeps MTW from being one of the greatest games of all time.
Salve,
I just joined the forum and im a RTW and MTW2 player. I would have to say my favorite would have to be Rome total war. Im not a big fan of the Dark Ages... very barbaric. Im really into Greek and Roman history, mostly Roman. I like the late rebublic era a lot.
I like this forum so far and hope to be here awhile!~

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is "no". Thus far, none of the TW games have multiplayer campaigns. Sad, but true!
random_pipings
03-27-2007, 03:40
That's devastatingly sad. Has anybody tried to do this in the past or is it an insurmountable object for some reason? Also I wish there was a way to give tribute to other nations (friend or foe). That would make it much more interesting, and it would make alliances more powerful since you could help out a friend in need even if they were far away.

Hi random_pipings,
With all the mods floating around, is there anybody who's yet come up with a way to allow multiplayer on the campaign mode? That's the one thing that keeps MTW from being one of the greatest games of all time.Never fear, although there may not me an actual MP campaign there is always the next best thing known as a PBeM Campaign. For more information on this enjoyable and fun practice simply pay a visit to the great Throne Room (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=38). I'm sure the guys over there will be happy to welcome you into a PBeM. Good luck, cheers!

I have arrived! After literally reading this forum without posting for TWO YEARS, I finally decided to register today. I'm called Candelarius at the TWC and RTR forums, and Yakaspat at the .COM forums, in case anybody cares. :beam:
I must admit what drew me to register was the positive energy and maturity expressed by the staff. Many online forums seem to have become Total War Bashes and/or CA Bashes, including the official site. Such animosity toward a PC game series I love and have been playing for many, many years is unacceptable. I was pleased this evening at a moderator's reaction to some mean spirited CA Bashing.
Good job ORG staff, keep up a great site.
Sincerely,
Candelarius, aka, Yakaspat

Junior members are usually promoted in batch's. Your best option would be to PM one of the Mods and ask them.

Welcome aboard, Cart!
You'll find very acknowledged people here, some who even speak the graphic cards laguage!
Thx all for the welcome.
Well Issues with TWMedievil II, The card is GEForce 7600 GS, and ther is 1Gb of ram. There are nasty streaks running from the battle scenes characters similar to the effects in Matrix and triangles (would that be polygons) in the sky. I can also see through horses and characters. I have tried tweaking all the possible settings in the game alas to no avail. Im still enjoying the game but it does detract from its enjoyment somewhat. The characters also seem slow to react.
I have looked at overclocking but my knowledge is not enough for me to pluck up the courage to mess.
Regards
Cart

And, Cart, I'm no expert on M2TW graphics settings, but I would recommend you look up the first issue of the Org's Gahzette (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=82442). One of it's main features is "How to get the most from your graphics card" about M2TW by Blackaxe3001. Alternatively, if that doesn't help, check out The Apothecary (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=15). There you should find much more capable persons to help you.
Enjoy your time at the Org!:2thumbsup:

Greetings from a M2 Guild noobee.
Seems this is the place to say a first howdee. I hope.
Howdee.
I am interested in getting started doing some modding on M2. Any help which can point me to something more specific than twcenter, which has lots of info but gives no clue as to where to start. I would be greatful.
These q's are where I am at:
Is there a manual or general guide to modding M2?
How to 'unpack"
what to unpack
why unpack
?
And, I might as well ask this while I am here. There is an instruction on how to use the "~" script editor somewhere...But it tells you what to write but not how to write it, I.E. so you write a line...then do you hit 'enter' or ? How do you get the thing to go into the deal? We used to call it sytax... or protocol. So some sech fansy wordin'.
:wall:
Thanks. Greg.

For anyone having graphcis problems with Medieval 2, I strongly encourage you to follow Warmaster Horus' advice and read that article in the Ghazette. If you're still having difficulties after that, you should post your problem in the Apothecary like he suggests.
dual939, just follow the link Ichigo gave you for help on modding the game. It's pretty comprehensive, and should answer many of your questions. ~:)

Do ya just hit return after you put in your line? Or?
Yes return IIRC.

Hi Everyone. I'm new here (just signed up about five to ten minutes ago).
btw, I was curious, If I provided historical background stuff, would anyone be willing to use that to make a historically accurate mod for Barbarian Invasion, similar to Europa Barbarorum (but with everything from the period of time the game takes place in)?
I've been reading up on several of the factions, and I have to do an essay on the Roman Empire, so I thought I might as well put the knowledge to good use.
Though before we undertake this, is there already such a mod?
Thanks everyone. and Hello again.:2thumbsup:

I believe you'll find the answer to your question here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=72). It lists pretty much all the RTW mods that are available for download, as well as the Rome mods that are currently in development. Odds are probably pretty good someone is (or already has) working on a mod like you describe, so I would definitely check out the scene there first.

Hello gran_guitarra, welcome to the Org ~ . I think the mod you are looking for is Invasio Barbarorum. You can find there forums here (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=113).

Honestly its hard to say. The gfx guys are finally building our new unit models, and not being a gfx guy myself I couldn't say how long it will take them. Coding/Scripting is coming along well, including the integration of a couple mini-mods, although I have been a bit frustrated. I beat my head against the desk daily at some of the limitations and hardcodes.

Hello gran_guitarra, welcome to the Org ~ . I think the mod you are looking for is Invasio Barbarorum. You can find there forums here (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=113).
It looks like it, but it starts at 410 ad, when the WRE was pretty much dead. I was hoping to do one that starts the same year as BI and goes on from there.
My main idea was to give more, necessary, historical accuracy to the Roman Empires, while adding the same to the different Germanic tribes, Steppe tribes (Vandals, Huns, etc.), and whoever wanted to kill off the Eastern Empire. Especially in the military, since all of them are portrayed as either a total cavalry faction or a total infantry faction (which is inferior to cavalry factions).
example:
The Comitatenses were not just a single type of unit. They were a denomination for the actual standing army, and had several different units, such as Skirmishers (forgot their name just now), Heavy Line infantry, Light Infantry (which were supposed to be an elite within the army, since they had to be trained to fight better so as to compensate for their lack of armor and weaponry), and several others. The Barbarian Auxiliaries used by Rome often had Roman equipment and training, making them almost as good as genuine Italic Legionnaires (they lacked their discipline though). The Palatinae were the guards of the Emperor, but could function like a normal Legion with its same subdivisions and such. There are more examples and such, which is why I want to help make a Historically accurate mod for the period of time.
The big problem with Invasio Barbarorum is that it is for the Barbarian Faction players, since one Roman Faction is pretty well ******* and the other is on its way to being so.
Anyway, I'll probably take about two to three months to get all the necessary information about factions, locations, cities and Roman Provinces, militaries, etc., but once I do I will be willing to provide that knowledge to anybody willing to help. I'll start a thread in about two months once I have all the necessary information for it to begin.
and, btw, thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Welcome aboard, ieyeasu. ~

Hello all fans of TW!
I have played Shogun TW since it was sold which was about 7 odd years ago?
I was in a clan called "Tenki" at the time. I myself used the pseudonym of "TenkiMadoka" or perhaps "Zanshin".
We hosted a tournament at some point and as I recall it was a success and the winner was awarded a samurai sword by one of our members.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the battlefield.

Advertising is considered as spamming. However, a link to a helpful, TotalWar related site, might be allowed. Maybe you should ask Mithrandir (he's the moderator of the Entrance Hall) through pm if it's ok to post that particular link, just to be sure.

Just A quick question here.
What does it take to become a full member?
Time/patience more than anything. If you are really concerned you could PM an admin.
First post.
Playing Rome:Total War extended Greek Mod and it is hugely fun. Playing Greek, and I am up to my neck on three fronts. I just want to say how awesome this mod is to play. It added a lot of replay value to Rome, which is nice because my computer doesn't have the guts to handle Medieval II. Is Barbarian Invasion worth picking up?

Hello all new members!
@justjoe: In respose to your question, is Bi worth picking up? Well ti depends on what your interests are. It adds some new stuff like shield walls and hordes, and updates RTW with the lastest pacthes. it also has a completely diffrent timeline, new factions and so on. Its like RTw, but a few hundreds years on with a few new features tossed in. Do you like the years 300 AD -????
@Neverever: I am gald you like The .Org, I hope you stay active!
Welcome to the Org, Snader Vandaal, justjoe, & Neverever! Make yourselves at home, and don't mind the camels. ~D
Just A quick question here.
What does it take to become a full member?
As Rythmic said, mostly time & patience. Junior members are usually promoted en masse every few weeks or so. If someone feels they may have been passed over for promotion (which does happen on occasion), they can always send a private message to TosaInu. It's best to wait at least a month, however, before you do that -- doing promotions sometimes takes a little while for Tosa to get to.
All that said, congrats on your promotion to full member, Leonidas! :medievalcheers:
Welcome justjoe and Neverever!
@ justjoe: BI is rather fun, it has the same "feel" as RTW but I find that the different era and units make it more challenging with great replay value.
Snader Vandaal

Welcome justjoe and Neverever ~
As for BI: it gives more challenging campaigns, certainly the Western Roman Empire (WRE) campaign does. There are less settlements, so you'll have more field battles instead of siege after siege like in RTW (or Rome Total Siege as some tend to call it). It also adds the hordes, which makes the campaign even more intresting. Imho, BI is certainly an improvement over RTW.
