Welcome Aethelwulf, duzey and Ethelred Unread ~
Ahoy... I'm a 28 yrs old Romanian, addicted to tw games since stw.
I just finished dwing EB and m playin' w the Getae.
P.s. I typed phlos instead of philos... is there any way to change my name?
Hey phlos, as a matter of fact I think there is. Go to your User CP there should be a link Edit Email, Password & Username, here you can edit your Username.
If you can not do this, PM TosaInu and he will do it for you.
On the top left, you'll see "User CP" (it's in black letters if you're using the RTW skin). It stands for "User Control Panel".
Click it. On the left side you'll see a list of options. One of them is "Edit Email, Password and Username". Click it. Change your username, save the changes. Beware, you can only change your username once a month, so maybe you'll get the message that you're not allowed to change it.
On the other hand, I'm not 100 % sure if Junior Members have acces to this option. So if you don't have the options I desribed above or it says you're not allowed to change your username, you can a) try to accept this dramatic personal disaster  and just wait to change your username once you have the options available or b) PM the staff.
Oh, forgot something: A Warm Welcome to you, ph(i)los ~
Edit : Gah, Rythmic beat me to it
Edit : Gah, Rythmic beat me to it
:laugh4:
Not the first time either.
tks for your warm welcome :)
I can only change my pass and email, not the username from the User CP options... I guess I'll have to pm a mod, any suggestions whom I may bother? ;)

Hello everybody, still kinda new to these forums, mostly on RTR forums & RTW forums.
But this seems to be the place to learn modding, so here I am, my forum memberships seem to be growing rapidly. No problem, I enjoy them

First of all, welcome to the Org, davidchandlee! ~
To answer your question, I think you'll find the Synopsis of the Guild Forums (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=45417) (which is stickied to the top of the Entrance Hall) to be quite useful in helping you navigate your way around. It gives a brief rundown and description of all the major forums here at The Guild. ~:)
Welcome all new members of the Org! I remember me being in this very same Entrance Hall not a long time ago. Persevere and you will become members soon enough!!

Hail all. Long time time RTW player, newbee forum junkie.
My most memorable RTW moment was in vanilla RTW when my German king (and top star general) was struck with a direct-hit from a Roman flaming catapult shot. I happened to be zoomed in on him at the time so it was quite traumatic! Needless to say I lost that battle (but not the war :sweatdrop: )
Ave everyone,
I play MTW, RTW (usually with RTR) and after Christmas hope to be playing M2TW. I've been a registered member for ages, but this is the first time I've bothered to post, usually I just read.

I happened to be zoomed in on him at the time so it was quite traumatic! Needless to say I lost that battle (but not the war :sweatdrop: )The beauty is that it works both ways, Caratacos.
I fired a 'silver' canon ball once when I played the French in MTW. The Pope 're-emerged' in Rome with a 3000 strong flock of faithfull. They had zero morale but the Pope's five stars would keep them together as an army.
I had the Rome Fortress guarded by one unit of Town Guards, some gentlemen on horseback and one (1) Culverin. When the Pope's unit appeared on the horizon, just for the heck of it I fired the Culverin at them. Lo and behold, His Holiness was struck dead, zero morale triumphed and all 3000 of them ran wailing and screeching back to Hell.
Never despair. :charge:

It's the white shirts on those Warrior Monks that made them stand out visually as well. Oh my God, if only they would (re)make a game that had the same kind of atmosphere as Shogun. The whinnying of the horses, the lonely bird's cry on a foggy morning before battle as your Daimyo overlooked the rolling hills of the Kanto... Enemy archers on the horizon! The irresistible flow of your Yari Cavalry charge...

Moderators keep track of your posts. The idea is you start making helpful and intelligent posts (no spam or worse) to demonstrate your ability to contribute to the .Org. After that things usually move fast. A couple good posts is more important than lotsa tid-bits about nuttin'.

Hello, all!
I've been reading up on some of the posts since getting M2:TW a short while back, and since I did unlock the Scottish campaign with the help of these forums, I thought it would be nice to actually try to participate in the discussions.
I've lived in the States for several years now, but I was born in Scotland. The idea of changing some of the History piqued my interest. When I saw a commercial for M2 (on the History Channel, no less), I knew it was something I'd like to try.
This is my first attempt at anything of this scope. I'm not sure how much help I can be with mods, but I do enjoy texturing so maybe I'll attempt it.
Well, I've got a lot of post-reading to catch up on, so hello and be-seeing-ya!
~Mel

hello everyone,
ive been lurking around here for awhile, reading on rtw, bi and mtw2. i got the gold edition or rtw and bi sometime ago and this forum has been great, but was having activation problems so just kept reading and reading and reading.
im from the usa but live in slovakia right now and finally have a new computer that will play all the various total war games (thus why i bought rtw and bi and just ordered mtw2).
so ive started with rtw and well it has truly sucked my soul and im not really interested in getting it back for some time, what an amazing game, love it love it and will continue loving it (though my girlfriend might not agree so much :laugh4: ).
ive got a number of questions but cant remember what they all are, so one main one i have is with bi:
--is there a place to get some of the strategy guides or manuals? my copy didnt come with a manual or anything. also is the bi map different than the rtw map (i would figure the provinces would be different) and if so is there a bi map somewhere so i can print it out?
thx for the help and enjoy!

Welcome to the Org, Wayward. To my knowledge, there is no internet version of the BI map, and it doesn't come with the game. The map does differ somewhat from the R:TW one: many important cities are still there, but others have been replaced or even removed. Faction specific strategy guides can be found in the R:TW guide forum (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=78).

Hi,
I´m Alpha from f*ckin´Germany. I got MTW (yes NO.1) before some months and now have a couple of questions. Guess i post them in the MTW forum.
I play strategy, adventures and FPS games (Steelpanthers, HOI, Operational Art Of War, Far Cry, Call Of Duty etc. ).....

Watch out with the swearing tough (the use of "f-words" and the like). You should replace them entirely by *'s, not just one or two letters.
Strict forum regulations, thnx for your cooperation
Hello all,
A Medieval 2:Total War newbie from Sweden has entered your guild :flowers:
I'm quite new to the strategy game genre but liking it so far. I've mostly played race and flight sim's before (actually since the dawn of day), but as the sim's nowadays seam to be "same, same but different" I'd thought it was time to try something new. Also, I can't muster time nor energy to participate in the racing leagues... perhaps I'm getting older...
I like history and in particular military history so I thought M2TW might do me good. The grace period was excellent! I really got caught up in this fine game. I've started to realize that I will need to read anything I can get my hands on that covers military strategy and warfare :laugh4: All recommendations are welcomed!
It's a bit sad though that I've encountered some problems with my game install, please review my post in the Apothecary forum :help:
Any way, I'm glad that I've found this place and hope that I'll be taken in by the seasoned war veterans that roam in this community.
:surrender:
Kind regards,
Karl

I only posted back on the 10th Dec. Thanks to Martok for welcoming me and since then I downloaded and read the two guides to RTW, esp. that of Frogbeastegg--it was very good--too bad I struggled with playing the game for months without it. At the end she mentions she has only had the game for 18 days! Obviously some others benefit from previous experience!
Meanwhile, visiting the big city from my country eyrie I saw and bought BI. After installing it, however, it seems that I can't get back to my RTW campaign [where, after taking the requisite 50 provinces I decided to conquer the world--you know, travel broadens the mind]. Using Windows explorer I can see that the saved files are still there. However the usual campaign opening screen has no date and it reverts to the multiple choice screen. Any suggestions please? :help:

I'm a long time player of MTW and RTW, but only recently decided to broaden my knowledge of the game through these forums of yours. They hold some very interesting information indeed :2thumbsup:
Just some background on myself, I'm from New Zealand, have a keen interest in History and Fantasy/Mythology, play a number of games online (mainly shooters now like BF1942 & DC mod, previously AoE II as well), and I am an avid RTW and Oblivion fan :whip:
Until recently was also playing X-Wars.com, Uni 1. If anybody plays/played that you might have met me ingame, where I led the Night Raiders (NR). I'm also an ex-Ogamer (Pirates Uni 1).
I've got limited modding experience or skills with RTW, but i'm hoping that I may be able to contribute to others mods with ideas or testing :idea2: I'm rather more experienced with modding for Morrowind and Oblivion though :shame:
Anyhow.... enough of my banter :wall: I look forward to reading through these forums and contributing where I may :book:

Hello, I'm Owen, i'm 15, and i've been watching these forums since RTW came out(really helped me form a basis for playing each faction). I got into the series with RTW and was absolutely enthralled, and even read a few books on strategy to help me in the battles, which definantly made the game easier, but still fun all the same. I got M2 for christmas, just as fun as Rome, although the battles seem less like strategic battles and more like all-out brawls (troops are very good at not following my orders, unlike the Romans did) but i guess that's just representative of the times isn't it? On top of this game, I also play Guild Wars, and love to read, play music and run.

Hello de-lurkers! :2thumbsup:
Some old habits should die, Lysaner13. Stop lurking; there is always someone on this site who needs your input, ideas, advice or coorperation.
If you guys contribute some sensible posts, help others, assist with mods, multi-play accordig to the Marquess of Queensbury's rules and generally respect the . Org atmosphere and the good things that we have going on here, you will be regular Members in no time. You will be able to visit and post in all the forums.
And for those of you who are old hands at any of the TW game(s), remember that we have all been noobs at some time and that helping noobs is a most rewarding activity.

Greetings all. I teach World History in a high school and I have been playing the TW games since Shogun but only recently registered at TWC. With all of the chaos at TWC, I thought it might be a good idea to register here. I have no idea what is going on over there and I don't really care. I just want a reliable forum where I can find info on historically accurate mods and discuss the game and history in general with other like minded individuals.
