Okay guys. I have two questions. Why is Chatoix a bad lynch? He was/is trying to become a Don. And why is everyone band wagonning on Montmorency so much? He has accounted for every night. Not only that, he did it pretty well.
He hasn't accounted that well, and what's this about Chaotix wanting to become a Don?
LIKE A DON BOSS.
[A little too much for the Gameroom - GH]
Thy request hath been granted by Dj Bart.
Montmorency's pretty much a liar.
He claimed to me on day one he was an FBI detective and he was going to investigate me.
Now he's claiming doctor.
Anything to survive as a scum.
Vote: Montmorency
I've never claimed doctor, you wannabe scum-wannabe. I jokingly told you I was FBI on N1 to mess with you after your inthread proclamations. Good luck with being Mafia. :brood:
So you spout a load of waffle, then whenever people start connecting the dots and comparing statements 'it was a joke'?
unvote; vote: Chaotix
What the hell! Might as well.Yah, right. If 'might as well' is a good reason for voting then you're activating my scumdar to no end.
Montmorency: 19 (HeroDC, Johhog, PeasantPhill, Cahoma, Yaropolk, Renata, Beefy, FrozeninIce, BRay, W&F, Seon, Memnon, Sturmhauke, Choxorn, AgKing, Chaotix, Beskar, Raskol, kennigit)

Endgame full reveal:
I am a wiseguy. My most recent project was to participate in a wiseguy vig group. Previous projects included going pure neutral, joining the Mafia for realsies, and infiltrating the Mafia as a mole. For a brief moment, I considered going the Pizza route, except totally incognito. On N4 I attacked Sasaki Kojiro. I had also prepared an Pizza-attack writeup for that eventuality.
Hark, Pizza, you winesack, non-entity, though beautiful to look upon, ever the
one with false lying purpose to enflame the hearts of men!
By MY HUGE STRENGTH will you be beaten down in the strong encounter, where with pitiless harsh words I will unstring your sinews, and the sweet life will leave your smooth body, and hateful death as a mist will cover both eyes. Hear now my vaunting and be sorrowful at heart, for you can not ever avoid the evil destiny.
I almost immediately realized that I couldn’t put out write-ups like these for any length of time. So here we are.
The player dies ten times, but the name lives on! Grossdeutschland über alles! :smug: https://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m252/RiverIsMyGoddess/icons/smiley_salute.gif

Got another one.
The day one vote for Erebus was random, admittedly. To be fair, I don't see how that vote was any different than other townies. If anyone who's an assumed townie had a decent vote on day one, could you point it out?The Earthling vote was on day two, when it was still early and hard to determine behavioral patterns, which is usually what I use to vote with. I'll apologize for the Sigurd vote; I wasn't paying that much attention to it, and didn't fully comprehend the situation. Personal mistake.
However, I stand by the rest of my votes and statements. I don't consider pressure voting scummy, no. In fact, that's how I normally vote. It's my philosophy that a pressure vote is generally more useful than a bandwagon vote. Of course, the Earthling and Sigurd votes didn't adhere to that, due to lack of knowing who's inactive and misunderstanding of the situation, respectively. I still stand by my votes, however.

Looks like my vote is completely insignificant and I'm still trying to catch up, so I'll just vote: Diamondeye, because he feels gut-scummy to me more than usual and I've played in more games with him than most others.

and here I didn't think I'd make it home from poker in time to vote!
vote Sigurd
I'm on the fence about Montmorency - enough so to let him die; I'd be just as happy to see Chaotix and/or Diamondeye get lynched, though.

“I can hear the auctioneer getting ready to sell down the river
To a buyer with a tax deduction its pretty cheap
Don’t forget about the price that we’ll all have to pay now
Show a little faith and stop before we’re in too deep
Well judgment day is upon you Mr. Politician
Will you sell the soul of the land of our birth
Do you really want us all to move to the coast
Water for the river and the future should come first””

The Executive Meeting Room (Small Ballroom)
Fatlington Convention Center
Fatlington, New Jersey
This time, there was no elaborate setup. Director Hankerchief did not summon everybody to a masquerade off-site in order to execute somebody. Nor did he pass anything out, wheel anything in, or bring in large carnivorous animals. For once, he did not leave the ballroom during the entire course of voting. All in all, this actually looked to be a fairly normal execution.
The only work that was done by his usual assistants was quickly completed so that by the time the Director announced Montmorency would be the day's lynch and said victim got up in front of the room to face everybody, the setup was already done. Aside from the usual Director's podium, Hankerchief's lovely female assistants had set up a small table with two chairs on opposite sides, with two empty glasses set on top of the table. The Director indicated for Montmorency to sit down while one of Hankerchief's assistants presented him with a bottle of wine. Bottle in hand, the Director remained standing to address the crowd.
"What you see here is a standard bottle of wine - well, if you could call '18 LaTour standard - that has not been altered in any way. I am about to take the cork out of the bottle for the very first time and breathe in its aroma. I do this in front of you so that none of you will be able to deny me later." The crowd watched in silence as he did what he said. "Once again, completely unaltered, I am now going to pour this same wine from the bottle into the two glasses." Again the crowd watched as he did this. "Now this..." the Director said as he reached into his lapel and pulled out a tiny capsule, "...is poison. I am going to empty its contents into one of the two wine glasses, and *not* in full view of everybody." He turned around, taking the glasses and hiding his movements so no one could see what he was doing. This time he did not do his task in silence, as the entire crowd had gasped over this turn of events. After a few seconds, the Director turned around, very deliberately setting one of the glasses in front of Montmorency and keeping the other in front of himself.
"I have decided to be merciful today - well, at least, as close to merciful that I can be. There has been some dissent over my leadership recently - that I am overseeing bad lynches, that I am being too forceful with my methods and not forceful enough regarding the Committee's night actions. Therefore, I am giving Montmorency a chance to get out of this alive. To change his fate. Only one of these glasses is poisoned. The other one is not. All he has to do is drink from the correct glass. If he's wrong, he dies. If he's right, I die and the Directorship passes to someone else. It's all in Montmorency's - and God's - hands. Let the battle of wits begin." And finally he sat down, staring at Montmorency with an impassive expression on his face.
Montmorency's facade of impenetrability was much more transparent. He was able to hold it for about ten seconds before breaking gaze with the Director and starting to mutter to himself. Most of it was unintelligible, but the Director was able to pick up such words as "Spaniard", "morons", and "land war in Asia". Hankerchief himself said nothing, only staring back at Montmorency with the slightest of smiles on his face. The Committee was completely silent. They could almost feel the brainpower in the air.
Beads of sweat started to form on Montmorency's face. One of them rolled down his cheek. It was becoming clear to everybody that the Director was, in fact, the superior intellectual, that he was most likely going to defeat his opponent, that the only way Montmorency would get out of this alive would be with a lucky guess. The muttering started up again. The sweat started to pour down his face now. Montmorency's eyes started to dart around the room, almost as if searching for something, calculating.
After several seconds of this, the darting stopped. Montmorency appeared calmer somehow, more confident. He stood up and turned around, facing the crowd, while still ostensibly speaking to the Director.
"I've figured it out!" he proclaimed. "Nobody in such a position of power would willingly risk it like this. No, you've gamed the system somehow. There *must* be a lynch, everyone knows this, and you wouldn't jeopardize that rule. You've probably poisoned both glasses but took an antidote beforehand, or have secretly built up a resistance to whatever poison you're using." He started to grow more frantic again, breaking the previous calmness. "Well, I deny you, sir! I deny this charade any longer! I refuse to take part in your mind games! The Committee can all go to Hell!!!" And then he broke for it, sprinting down the ballroom before anyone had a chance to react. He was so fast he managed to get to the doors before anyone reacted. Finally, everyone gasped save for GeneralHankerchief, who still had that small smile on his face.
Montmorency threw open the doors... only to reveal a very large, very hungry Bengal tiger right on the other side, waiting to pounce.
Montmorency was too in shock to do anything. He stood there, rooted to the ground, as Fred tore into his newest meal. Back in the Executive Meeting Room, there was far less commotion than last time. It had happened too quickly, the tiger had gotten its target right away, everyone was still processing what had happened and by the time they did, it was over. Finally, as Fred was done, the Director signaled for quiet and for someone to close the doors. Still with that same smile on his face, he addressed the Committee.
"All part of the plan," he said. "What, you thought I'd actually poisoned the wine? A bottle of 1918 LaTour? Philistines, all of you." And he produced three more glasses, poured the rest of the wine to his female assistants, and they all toasted the continued good health of the Committee.

And I'm sure Diamondeye doesn't want to get murdered tonight, but that probably won't stop anyone. Such a shame too, the one time you see him advocating for the town. Though if he lives I'd love to help him out, maybe he should make a bid for Director.

Game-related announcement:
I can't wait anymore and my efforts are becoming futile.
So far as I know, nobody knows who this guy is, none of my contacts, not even the FBI.
I've been fully scanned by the FBI and the Fatlington PD, both; I'm completely free of communism, free of mafia ties, and have committed zero kills.
As such, I am now leveraging that trustworthiness into something I need done.
I need the "US Agent" to contact me.
This is not an FBI person, I know that much. I don't know a whole lot other than that.
I can protect you, and I can protect your anonymity.

I am actually trying to create fuss with these posts. People vote others on zero reasoning and I want them to speak up about this.
The reason I'm not spamming talking as much as usual is because I try to respect this (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?137944-Capo-IV-anti-spam-message-MUST-READ).
If it's public demand I will gladly resume my usual style of posting
I am not trying to fly under the radar, I am trying to bring things up on the radar, like Memnon's and DE's vote today, same goes for fyremarble's vote ON Memnon. We are several days into the game and this random votes with random reasons thing has to stop!
At the same time one could look at it as a convenient avenue for posting, but okay, that sounds reasonable.

Askthepizzaguy
09-29-2011, 18:31
I need some positivity right about now.
For the record:, to the folks who aren't happy:
1) Folks do not need to work with me. I asked them not to (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?137890-Capo-Off-topic-discussion&p=2053370966&viewfull=1#post2053370966) at the start of the game.
I don't wanna. I am clearly not the only person in a group of 110 who could perform this task. Someone else can be your star quarterback, easily! LOTS of talented folks here. Lots of highly experienced, highly motivated, friendly, communicative, active, cunning people. They really deserve a shot at that role, and if I am competing for such a role, people will likely go for me again based on old patterns. I have to decline.
I directed them to anyone else who would organize groups. I even posted a how-to (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?137953-Capo-di-Tutti-Capi-IV&p=2053373717&viewfull=1#post2053373717), so others could copy what I do, so I would not monopolize group formation. I did everything I could, on my end, to make it fair and equitable on folks who wanted to be independent but also wanted their actions to succeed once in a blue moon. And may I remind folks, working with me was always voluntary.
2) I've gotten dissatisfied comments from folks who have not done any successful actions, who have gotten half of their actions to succeed, and from folks who have had nearly all their actions to succeed. This is what is puzzling me. If I fail people, they aren't happy. If I succeed for people, they aren't happy.
3) I haven't asked anyone to do anything they don't want to do; every night I seem to repeat, do you still want to do protections? Still want to do kills? Have any specific career in mind I can help with? And I don't turn anyone away because I disagree with their career path. Whatever people want I help with. You'd think there would be no room for complaint but here we are.
Gosh, not only is what I'm doing hard, time consuming, and pretty thankless, you'd have to stretch your brain into all kinds of funky shapes to come up with legitimate criticism of it, but dang, I'm getting a lot of dissatisfied peeps.
Go do your own thing then. Seriously, I'm not forcing you. And I resent the implication. And I don't want to change the way I play just to make others happy, especially since I haven't stopped anyone from doing anything they want, and I've mostly hit folks who aren't even playing the game. There just is no pleasing some people.
Ungrateful :daisy:s. (I really hate flowers)
I have sent 2 pms (it was 4, all of them to Xenoneb) so far so I maybe should start to contact people.
[Language please - GH] (oh sorry, it was more a sad expression than a cursing of them)

If people are bored they could even try to deliberately sabotage my efforts. It's all an expected part of the game. I'm not going to be offended if people play their own way. It's part of the fun....
You guys aren't my lackeys, if anything, I've been everyone's personal assistant, but if you're feeling that way then... try to stop me! Jeepers! Wouldn't that be fun too? I'm not gonna be mad if people try to stop my plans through deliberate 'disobedience'. I'm sorta surprised more people aren't.

I could get the ball rolling. Some ambitious person could give someone else an anonymous email address, and their assistant can post it publicly.
Then, everyone who wants to throw a wrench in the pizza-led machine can contact that email address and begin organizing like-minded folks to stop the groups I put together. You might even succeed, OMG. You see, it's not even that difficult. Or, you could always just lynch me.
Lots of really tempting options. Go nuts.
I hope this puts this chapter to rest so I can keep doing my DJ thing and running around shooting at people for lols at night. Really, helping with groups was supposed to be a side thing to assist newbies until they got oriented. Dunno why veteran players are turning to me unless they really, really want to.
Anyway, I have a Neutral Avenger kill to write. Someone's getting pied tonight real good, I swear it.
I've been fully scanned by the FBI and the Fatlington PD, both.
Really? For some reason I doubt this is true. Just a hunch though.
If people are bored they could even try to deliberately sabotage my efforts.

An inside job? That implies some kind of betrayal be people in-the-know. Of the three of us I was the only one killed by the mafia, the other two were townie 'vig' hits. I never told anyone my role, so there was certainly no inside job in my death. Whoever targeted me was just smart and/or lucky. If I had to hazard a guess, I would assume I was investigated by a Made early on, found to be innocent, and thus considered a good target since I wasn't recruitable. My hat is off to whoever did it, regardless of the reason; they played smart. There was a leak somewhere because I have never heard of a "lucky" shot that good or precise in any Capo game. I guess we just skim over the fact that there are people who want to join the mafia like Chaotix? People who would easily start vig-killing for that very purpose.:clown:
In any case, your post is scummy. There's no basis for calling the detective deaths an 'inside job' as far as I can tell, yet you throw that out there casually. Of course, I am White_eyes:D not TinCow. I guess you thought "I am never right about him, why start now?".:laugh4:

Guys, I totally can't form a new mafia group with only like 3 people.
Much as I wish it wasn't the case, I need a group of five to kill dudes tonight.
So shoot me those PMs. I will take you to the top. I will be blatantly obvious. I will not be lynched until somebody figures out I'm not joking.
Besides, gotta weaken those established families so that my up-and-coming one has a little more influence.
Could the communists be different this time around? Certainly. I have no idea. But the bottom line is that neither of these lynches is good for the town.
That said, I'm not gunning for the town and I'm the third candidate after them, so I don't really care.
As you can see, I pretty much have nothing to hide from you guys. I was trying to form a mafia group, but literally everyone who even considered joining me has been killed. Now I've decided to just continue working with the vig group I've been with since Night 1. I am still a townie.
Lynching me doesn't really make sense here. I've been attacked at night twice, you've killed everyone I ever tried to build a family with, and I'm pretty much powerless. Why don't you lynch someone who is actually a threat?
It means that at any rate I'm probably going to be killed by [vigilantes] sooner or later, so you don't have to worry about lynching me.
What's probably better evidence is that I have been vigilante-killing every night in a predictable pattern, and I am a known quantity by everyone who needs to know.
Bahahahahahaha!
I love how the scum are so afraid of me they feel the need to threaten the town not to work with me.
Join me, and I will rid this city of such low-life. I will teach them true fear.
I'm having a blast as mafia. I hope you have as much fun being dead.
Wait a minute, I have just the right expression for this occasion....

I take that to mean the fatlington pd has been wiped out...that TinCow knew the starting strength.
Well, then I have someone posing as a Fatlington PD officer, and I also have rogue detectives about to pop soon. Therefore, we scan mister PD and see if that's the case.
But I'm not tossing him to the dogs on Tincow's vague reservations.

If any of you dead people want to play a game, Simpsons Mafia (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=438021) on CFC is almost ready to go, but we still have 6 open slots and need a few reserve players, so if you could come over and fill those slots, we can start the game faster and you can play an awesome game. :)
/End of Shameless Advertising
We'd also take players that are still alive here if you want another game to play along side this one.
Guys, I just found out that I'm not going to be available for the next 3 days (until Tuesday, basically). So, to whom it may concern, please do not include me in any night activity groups until then.

According to the manual written by one Professor Askvaard von Pizzaguy, people who do this should be looked at more closely.
If you're always with the same group then you just let them know. If you're not, then whenever people ask you if you're going to join their group and you're not available that should be it. Right?

Sixth Night -- The Streets of Fatlington
Askthepizzaguysat at a café table outside the Hotel Abbatoir. He was frustrated. Things were going so well, the program had never enjoyed higher ratings. Yet still letters of complaint arrived. Vexed, he finished his coffee and sighed. The shadows watched him, waiting.
Zack hadn't been heard from in 5 Fatlington days. He was last seen asking people who he should be voting for, but no one responded. He felt left out.... lost... and so he kept to himself. Well, screw em if they didn't want him around, he thought to himself. He had been sitting out the committee meetings and not even bothering to exit his townhouse except for the occasional errand. He had the front door secured by deadbolt and braced with a steel bar. The windows had been nailed shut, and reinforced by metal grates. He slept well knowing this. It would be impossible to get to him, he thought.
After a long night of watching television, eating popcorn and drinking soda pop, Zack passed out in front of the television, on his reclining chair. He was resting quite comfortably, and before long the broadcast day had ended, and the television went silent. And all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
No creature except a man dressed in a trenchcoat and fedora. He made his way through the kitchen, and down the hall. Zack awoke with a start, when he heard the sound of someone's heavy boots walking across the wooden floor.
"Who is it? Who is there?" asked Zack cautiously, and he fumbled around in the dark for his weapon.
"It's the Avenger. You know who I am. I got a special delivery for you." said the man in the fedora.
"How did you even get in here, anyway?" asked Zack.
"The window by the fire escape was wide open, ya schmuck!"
"Okay.... leave it on the doorstep and get the hell out of here!"
"Sure, but what about my money?" asked the stranger.
"What money?" asked Zack.
"Don't tell me I came all this way, just to walk away empty-handed. You know I don't like that." the man unbuttoned his trenchcoat and reached inside...
"Is that a fact? How much do I owe you?" asked Zack.
"I think ten percent oughta cover it." said the man in the fedora.
"How about I give you nothing, and you turn around and walk away before somebody can't ever walk no more?" said Zack.
"Oh really? How generous. Hey... I got something I want to give you, Zack. I'll give you ten seconds to get your ugly, yellow, non-voting keister out of Fatlington, before I pump your guts full of lead."
Zack realized he left his weapon on the other side of the room. There was only one thing left to do. "All right, all right! I'm going!"
"One.... two.... TEN!"
The man in the fedora opened fire, taking out the television set, the reclining chair, and even the sofa that Zack contemplated hiding under and crying like a little girl. Within seconds, the Thompson sub-machine gun made short work of Zack's living room, as Zack himself bolted for the window. He tried to dive straight through, but it turns out his security precautions had foiled his own escape. He planted himself face-first in the steel bars, wedging his head and neck between them, face planted against the window. There was no escape. The man in the Fedora kept shooting up the apartment with glee, and then surveyed the damage. The property value would certainly take a hit, that's for sure. Then, the man in the Fedora opened up a box he had set down on the counter of the kitchen, and brought it over to Zack, who was still wedged in his own window.
"Keep the change, ya filthy animal," said the man in the Fedora, as he stuffed an entire pizza pie down Zack's pants. He then made his way down the fire escape, before the cops could arrive. Zack was tormented for the rest of the night by the heavenly aroma of pizza, but couldn't taste a single bite of it.
ByzantineKnight was a quiet member of the committee, but had always been participating. He was surprised, therefore, to be singled out by an attacker as he drove away from the Convention Center.
The attacker rammed BK off the road and into a lamp post with a crunch. BK was momentarily stunned, but when the attacker hopped out of the car and started firing, BK managed to drop from sight below the dash. BK crawled out the opposite side and made his way into the alley between the two buildings and to safety. No one barred his path.
ByzantineKnight had arrived safely at his apartment when the second attack came in – it never rains, but it pours.
It started simply enough with a pounding knock on his apartment door.
“Raus, raus!” said the voice in a classicly Hollywood German accent.
“Get out of here! I am armed and will defend myself!
“Dry…Zwei…Eeeny….meeny….miney….unt moe!” counted the bad accent.
The PIAT round crashed through the apartment window and burst on the ceiling just above where BK had taken cover to guard the door. He didn’t have a chance.
The ‘German’ kicked in the damaged door, went to BK’s corpse and dropped the calling card – a picture of Alaska with the phrase ‘Seward’s Folly’ scrawled on the picture. He turned and left.
It would be a particularly bad night for slash and earn even though he would survive unharmed.
He reached his apartment safely enough, but while sitting on the couch was surprised when a hole opened in the ceiling and dumped a few gallons of Marmite all over him. He had barely cleared the goo off his eyes when he saw the score of ferrets racing towards him from the apartment windows.
It tickled horribly. Each ferret leapt on him and began licking. At first he tried to fight, but it just didn’t matter – there was always another rodent coming at him. Then, as the tickling began – all those little tongues – he was paralyzed.
That the ferrets licked off all of the Marmite and left – without even nibbling on him a teensy-weensy bit – was almost incalcuably unlikely, but it happened. Slash made it through unharmed – but would he ever be the same?
Across town a masked man walked up to a member of the committee – hands out and open to show he meant no harm. The committee member was nervous at first, but realized soon enough what the chat was about.
“I hope you’ll call me.”
The masked man nodded politely and walked away.
The attack on Diana Abnoba was a fiasco from the start. The pair of Tommy gunners were close together, and obviously firing as though they expected to be part of a larger effort.
Even that would have been thwarted though, as a quintet of protectors drove cars between her and the shooters and opened an escape route through the Five and Dime for her. It was not so much of a much.
It was like something out of a cheesy Western serial at the Saturday matinee. Nictel had just pulled up to the curb and gotten out of the Chrysler, when he saw the shadowy figures loom out of the shadows. Across the street seven figures carrying Chicago Typewriters were throwing down their guns while to his front and rear on his own side of the street a further five shotgunners were shouldering their weapons.
Nictel went for his guns, of course. He had a brace of Mexican Colts and he moved like lightning – as though he were already a ghost.
That had been John Henry Holliday’s secret weapon half a century before. Tubercular and convinced that death by gunfire would be a mercy, Doc fought like he just didn’t care – and that was his edge. Nictel moved the same way.
Nictel dove through the open window of the car, putting the door between himself and the first bursts of SMG fire. Shoving the door open, he pistoled one of the shotgunners behind the car with two bullets to the midsection, dropping him or her immediately (though the armor meant there was no injury, the slugs still took the steam out of that shooter). He kept slithering until he was at the passenger door, hunkered down and trading shots with his attackers.
Shooting from each hand in turn (two guns at once was strictly for Hollywood), Nictel was shooting well enough to keep his opponents of balance even though they were the ones with the automatic weapons.
This stalemate only lasted until the first revolver shot dry. Nictel dropped the drum and reached into his vest for a full one, but could only cover one direction. The first real hit was a shotgun blast to the foot which dropped him. Then a burst of ricochets from a couple of Tommy guns, then another shotty while he leaned out from behind the door trying to get back up to his knees.
The rest was a brief but terminal fusillade for Nictel. His killers, several of them bruised from hits on their armor or grazed by ricochets and brick chips from near misses, tipped their hats silently and then faded into the darkness.
Tratorix thought his killer looked a little young – and rather ugly.
>>>How’d that mug ever end up with a nickname like ‘babyface.’<<<
He’d thought he’d known both of his killers pretty well. He hadn’t truly expected that they’d be working for a mafia family. He’d let them get close and, before he could duck away, both had drawn snub-noses and pulled the triggers.
At the range they’d fired, his trenchcoat had been seared and blackened where each round had struck. Though armor inserts had stopped some of the slugs, more than half of the ten fired found their mark.
>>>Why me? I mean I…THOSE two?...I’ll denounce them both the rats…cold…so dark…<<<
And then it stayed dark.
They found him a while later, a picture of the state of Alaska pinned to his coat with the legend “Seward’s Folly” scrawled across it.
Cecil XIX was saved by a stroke of good luck and impeccable if old-fashioned manners. Having just stepped out of his Packard on the curb near Iron Felix’s, Cecil was only a few steps from the door when the doorman whipped it open and the ’lady in red’ walked out.
This tall drink of water came close to six feet in the heels she wore and had the same kind of extravagant figure Jayne Mansfield was to parlay into stardom only a few years hence. Cecil smiled and doffed his Fedora with a flourish and a full bow straight out of the 18th century.
He thereby ducked below the almost perfectly paired shots fired by the two shooters wielding classic Winchester repeaters across the street. The ‘lady in red’ took one slug in each half of her décolletage, which proved to be poor armoring however decorative. The bullets had actually crossed over one another in flight, the near “X” of their crossing marking the center of Cecil’s chest – but for that courtly bow.
Cecil turned the bow into a dive roll for cover; the doorman turned his whistle for a cab into a shriller whistle that brought the beat cop and generated sirens, the pair of shooters beat feet in retreat, and the ‘lady in red’ paid the price of Cecil’s gallantry. Only for Cecil could it have been described as a lucky break.
Raskolnikov drove with white-knuckled determination, every sense heightened. This was Fatlington, after all, and the question really wasn’t if you were paranoid, but if you were paranoid enough?
As such, he saw the PIAT round in his peripheral vision and managed to swerve the car away from the projectile. It still hit the car, but only on the front left corner and Rask’ was able to ride the wrecked vehicle well enough to avoid a crash. He bailed out before the vehicle could explode.
The PIAT gunner was not alone, however. Actually, lugging a loaded PIAT around – all 32 pounds of it – pretty much mandated some covering fire and support. This time, it was the support crew that would score.
Rask’ came up firing, but at the now hiding PIAT gunner half a block off and not at the 4 shooters behind him inside the store windows or above him from across the sidestreet a few feet ahead.
He died game, turning to face the shooters who fired through the store windows and the ones who shot at him from across the street, but it was too little and too late. Raskolnikov, shot through a dozen times, bled out before an ambulance could arrive.
J.D., unlike Raskolnikov, managed to force his attackers to retreat. They had started firing from the bushes – short controlled bursts – and they aimed low to avoid any armor. J.D. took slugs low in both legs and dropped to the gutter.
He didn’t just lay down and die like some might have. He was low and partially coverered, but his shooters were only concealed by the bushes. He fired back below the gun flashes and started scoring hits of his own. Soon, sirens wailing and both of them having been hit (on their armor) J.D.’s assailants faded into Seaside Park and away.
J.D., hit in both legs and one arm and losing quite a bit of blood, was quickly taken by the ambulance crew, who cut off his shoes and trousers and staunched the blood. Though ruinous of his attire, they undoubtedly saved his life. All-in-all, J.D. might be described as having been sorta lucky.
For out-and-out luck, Erebus was your man. When the four other cars boxed his in and ground it to a halt at the intersection, Erebus put the top down on the car and ran across one of his attacker’s hoods, hopped to another car, and landed on the sidewalk.
At the exact moment he landed, each of the four attack drivers fired – and ended up hitting the car he’d slid across to reach the sidewalk.
Then, since prudent killers in Fatlington liked having backup plans, the other two members of the kill team cut loose with a Vickers machine gun from a porch halfway up the block and across the street.
Their tracers were fractions of a second from smashing into Erebus when the steel doors of the store’s cellar popped up and open as the store owner below prepared to shift some ruined merchandise out of his cellar and into the garbage. Erebus thus had – against all odds – heavy armor between himself and the machine gun team and a ready escape route. Luck was his lady tonight.
J.D. was on the stretcher, just being lifted down to the ground for the few short steps into Mercy Emergency. As he was angled down, a thin black umbrella lanced out of the darkness and, it’s tip improbably sharp, plunged into J.D.’s abdomen. The ambulance crew screamed and dropped him onto the street, the umbrella pushing further up and in, puncturing the diaphragm.
Thirty seconds later and with the assistance of a passerby, the ambulance team had J.D. back on the stretcher and heading into emergency. A further minute later, J.D.’s breathing ground to a halt as the curarae on the umbrella tip paralyzed his muscles. Despite heroic efforts, he would be pronounced dead only ten minutes later. Oddly, during his ‘rescue,’ someone – the helpful passerby? – had removed his big toe.
“Got it,” said the ‘helpful’ passerby to his partner. “I didn’t even need to finish him.” His partner nodded.
“Good. I only had the one umbrella with me.”
“Good throw.”
“Yes, rather.”
Erebus, still running on adrenalin after the attack earlier, was surprised to run into – literally – Psychonaut[B].
“You’ve been orchestrating a litany of lies!”
The comment had come from somewhere in the shadows and witnesses would later claim it had been directed at Erebus, but it was Psycho who thought he was being insulted as well as pushed around.
Psycho took offense and soon both men, more than a little tense this week, were shoving one another and hurling unkind comments about each other’s parentage and sexual proclivities. Rather than let things get completely out of hand, [B]bestrfcplayer jumped between the two brawlers, pushing them back and shouting for them to calm down.
The shooters cut loose at that moment. One pair of shooters were aiming for Psycho while the other pair were gunning for Erebus. Both hit their targets, but between body armor, poor lighting and the frantic movements of all three people at the center of this little drama, only 3 fatal shots were made. Unfortunately for bestrfc, his name was on all three.
With sirens wailing and a pair of beat cops running toward the scene, the two pairs of shooters ran off into the darkness. Bestrfcplayer lay dying in the gutter, and both Erebus and Psychonaut earned a trip to Mercy hospital. When they were assigned to the same ward, neither complained. At least bestrfc had been a little successful. Erebus and Psycho had been sorta, but only sorta, lucky.
Kagemusha was enjoying the lamb at Michael and Vito’s on Baltic near the boardwalk. He’d ordered the chianti and a side of Fava beans to go with the richly marinated lamb. A good bit of pepper for spice and just a hint of garlic – a delight fit for a gourmand, even though this hole-in-the-wall lacked the décor or the service of a top eatery like Felix’s or the Abbatoir.
“What’s up Doc?” said the fellow wearing the Bugs Bunny mask who’d strolled up to Kage’s table.
Kagemusha did not hesitate. With one move he whipped the table up, flipping it into the rabbit and depositing an entire side of linguine marinara onto the fellows gray flannel suit. He also knocked Bugs on his posterior and made a break for the back exit through the kitchen doors.
>hyah-hyah-huh-ha< went the Elmer Fuddesque laugh that greeted Kage’ as he swung open the door of the kitchen. And it really did look like Elmer Fudd, with the old-style hunting outfit and Fudd mask – straight out of the cartoons.
The old-style double-barrelled shotgun was straight out of the Sears catalog. It worked fine though, with both barrels going off in Kage’s face and sending his head – splattered – back into the restaurant.
‘Bugs’ stood up, went over to the still twitching corpse and quickly removed the right shoe, the right sock and then the right big toe of their victim.
“Buduh-buduh-buduh, that’s all folks,” said Elmer –quoting Porky – as the two Warner Brothers made their way out of the restaurant and into the night.

The Executive Meeting Room (Small Ballroom)
Fatlington Convention Center
Fatlington, New Jersey
“…and that wraps up our list of major recent events. Fatlington has lost a lot of good people this past night.”
Fermanagh took a moment to review his notes.
“We’ve got more post-mortem investigations for you. The Day Four lynchee was a success for us! Major Robert Dump was another wiseguy criminal and while we don’t think he was actively connected with the mafia, we think we are on the right track. Both of the murder victims that night, Ameranth and Lord Winter were both wiseguys as well. We are clearly seeing the death of the criminal element in Fatlington.”
Fermanagh seemed to be trying to convince himself as much as the committee that these events represented a real success.
“Work quickly, the danger is not yet past.”
“Thanks for the…inspiration…Commissioner. I’m sure we are all much readier to face the day with your kind words to spur us on.”
Generalhankerchief had managed to say that last bit with an almost completely straight face – a testimony to his leadership. He then gavel the committee into open session for what would undoubtedly be a long, long day.

Edit: what's this with people wearing armour?
Edit2: some of the kill reveals are, um… not listed?
Really?!?
REALLY?!?
3 Attacks?!?
1 Failed vigilante attack, 1 escaped mafia attack, and 1 mafia attack that put me in the hospital? Psychonaut too?
Why are the mafia afraid of me? What secret did I stumble across?

Alright everyone, I'd like your support for one more Director's term. My goal is to serve out this one and then pass the mantle onto whomever you deem sufficient. I'm running out of good lynch writeups and need to think of some more.

The exact same reasons I gave yesterday: He brags about wanting to be scum in thread, he brags about wanting to be scum in PMs, and he must be damn close. Whatever happened to Mr. blue ski mask? Chaotix certainly isn't acting in the best interests of the town, and what motive could he have for doing so?

Does seem to be at least one mafia betrayal in there. That's nice, even if at least two families now have the resources to pull off multiple attacks per night.
Do we know of any others, besides the Toe-Severers and the Alaskans?
@Erebus, you certainly got lucky tonight.
I certainly did.

Welcome to a city that'll bring you to your knees
It'll make you beg for more, until you can't even breathe
Your blindfold is on tight, but you like what you see
So follow me into the night, cuz I got just what you need
We're all rollin' down the boulevard, full of pimps and sharks
It's a [censored]' riot, we've been dying to start
You better grab a hold cuz now you know you're falling apart
You thought these streets were paved in gold
but they're dirty and dark
Been to hell!
I can show you the devil!
Down you fell
Can't hold yourself together
Soul to sell
Down here you live forever
Welcome to a world where dreams become nightmares!
In the belly of the beast, I'm a wolf amongst sheep
At the bottom of the hill, but at the top of the street
Above the boulevard, schoolyard, victim of deceit
And you're running hard, but this wolf it's always at your feet
Yeah you've seen it all before, but the wolf's outside your door
And you're old enough to run, you ain't hiding anymore
Another victim of the star spangled banner of the street
Now you're in the world of the wolves
And we welcome all you sheep
You need to wake up and face it
So you can taste my reality
Now you're stuck in this place you hate
And you came here so happily

The Anachronism hour with Saucy Slice
"Good morning, Fatlington. This is your host of The Anachronism Hour, DJ Saucy Slice. Last night, chaos erupted on the streets of my beloved city... I am speechless, given the number of our fallen friends.
The song you just heard was "Been to Hell" by the Hollywood Undead. I felt it appropriate since Fatlington has apparently become the seventh circle of the fiery underworld. It's time for News Cruise! with Askthepizzaguy. Can I get a brief summary of what happened, Ask?"
Askthepizzaguy: "Last night, the following Fatlings were attacked and survived: Zack, slash and earn, Diana Abnoba, Cecil XIX, Erebus, and Psychonaut.
However, the following Fatlings were attacked and did not survive: ByzantineKnight, J.D., Kagemusha, Nictel, Raskolnikov, Tratorix.
Police reports are understandably hard to come by, but in this reporter's opinion, this is what happened:
Askthepizzaguy was visited during the night by someone in the shadows; doesn't appear to be an investigation either, or it wouldn't have been mentioned. This smells like a mad bomber serial killer type. Goody.
Zack was attacked by the Neutral Avenger, Askthepizzaguy.
ByzantineKnight was attacked by one mafioso or wannabe mafioso; his partner didn't arrive.
ByzantineKnight was attacked by a Seward's Folly pair of gangsters, and died.
Slash and earn was attacked by something very strange, and survived. Presumably a neutral solo vigilante in the same vein as Askthepizzaguy, and at least as creative. It does not smell like mafia involvement.
Diana Abnoba was attacked by a shorthanded group of vigilantes and defended by a fully-manned group of defenders.
Nictel was slain by seven vigilantes and five vigilantes working together. Truly, an epic defeat of somebody important.... in my opinion, a mafioso. AND THAT WILL BE THE FATE OF ALL YOUR FRIENDS, NICKY!!!
Tratorix was slain by two gangsters, Seward's Folly again.
Cecil XIX was attacked by either a pair of vigilantes or a pair of gangsters. He survived by luck, so I'm assuming they were gangsters.
Raskolnikov was hit by the PIAT gangsters, seems to be their signature weapon. He died.
J.D. was attacked and survived by luck, and then was attacked again and slain by two men, one of whom was wielding an umbrella as a weapon. They lopped off his toe.
Erebus and Psychonaut were attacked, survived by sorta-luck, and bestrfcplayer was killed by the wrath of an angry god!
Kagemusha was slain by Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd, who lopped off his toe. I've seen these guys before.
And that's everything, Saucy."
"I'm still shaken from the news. We lost a lot of good people last night. Many didn't have to die. Although some really, really needed to die on account of being lurker scum. :2thumbsup:
The all-request hour is coming up, but I'd really like to interview either the Communist or the Corleone today; I'm not sure which but we have time for both interviews. Maybe I can schedule both?
If any other businesses or groups wish for some airtime, contact me and request an interview!"
If you want to request a song or an interview, dial 1-855-DJ-SLICE (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/private.php?do=newpm&u=23872). He'll serve your ears something hot and fresh in thirty minutes or less. "Legitimate businessmen", please contact us anonymously via email (askthepizzaguy@yahoo.com) to set up a phone interview, to discuss the unemployment situation on the air.
Does seem to be at least one mafia betrayal in there. That's nice, even if at least two families now have the resources to pull off multiple attacks per night.
Do we know of any others, besides the Toe-Severers and the Alaskans?
What about this obvious Looney Toons one?
I swear I've seen some Porky Pig reference somewhere.

Alright everyone, I'd like your support for one more Director's term. My goal is to serve out this one and then pass the mantle onto whomever you deem sufficient. I'm running out of good lynch writeups and need to think of some more.
Select: Generalhankerchief
A finer Director I've never seen, and that includes Reenk. Just barely, mind you. :stare: Don't let it go to your head.
ATPG, you only mentioned one of my three attacks.
I'm rather proud of whatever I did to attract ALL this attention (one attack last night, 3 this night).
A failed 4 man vigilante group and a mafia hit that went... awry.:creep:
Then the Combined attack from 2 sets of 2 Mafia
Montmorency
10-01-2011, 05:41
Yep, a whole lot of Mafia hits. I'm not making a rigorous count, but there were what, over a dozen non-Don Mafia and Mafia-aligned effectives?
Tratorix seems to have been betrayed by Mafia, and Pizza seems to think Nictel must have been Mafia due to the vig attention.
@Pizza: Are the PIAT guys all gangsters?
Sounds like this PIAT user was a vig. Thoughts?
Montmorency
10-01-2011, 05:43
Oh, and it's only 2 families, three if you include the PIATers.
It still seems as though two of the Mafia families are either really weak or inactive.
Montmorency
10-01-2011, 05:46
No, wait, I'm wrong and dumb. The other two families just don't have original motifs (calling cards) to their kills.
Oof, triple post. Good thing I'm already dead.

Come on now, Populus. Still bitter about that little in-thread reveal of mine? After all, I'd think you'd be grateful. Not only did it enlighten you to the fact you've been duped, but now nobody's going to attack you because either a. they think you'll be lynched or b. they know you're a doctor and think you'll be protected.

actually my reason for voting for you is that you have enjoyed voting for me. Not so different than yours if you want to mindlessly vote for me, then I'll mindlessly vote for you. See, simple ;)
Hmm, to me Aggony's defense seems like its just a poorly worded OMGUS, maybe even a jokey one, but I don't know how his boat normally floats so I can't really say.
Nevertheless, since the choice is between the two I'd have to say that landlubber's defense of himself was definitely more satisfactory than AK's one. I welcome alternative candidates though, in light of my perception over what his "scummy defense" essentially was.

"inactivity" is not a defense, seeing as we've already hit what appear to be several inactive or lurking gangsters. I'm willing to bet some flip scum soon.
What is a defense is visibility in the writeup, another reason for folks to find themselves an alibi, even if their alibi is shoving pizza slices down Zack's crack.

I believe this was just an oversight by Seamus.
“…quite correct Mr. Director, and it’s that sorry I am too. With how much the town has grown and all the additional stuff to keep track of, I simply lost my spot and skipped over a bit. My apologies…”
Fermanagh waved a sheet of notepaper around as he moved to the podium. He put the notes down and continued.
“Here is the missing post-mortem stuff. [B]Taillesskangaru and cpdwane were both innocent townies. On the other hand, Master Necromanver was – and I admit I went and checked again to be sure when I saw that I’d missed a notes page, was a Mafia Don – the leader of one of the crime families plaguing us. His accidental death was a boon for Fatlington.
Surprise swept around the room visibly. Generalhankerchief moved back to the podium to re-establish order.
“Thanks Commissioner. Now, in light of this new information….”

LOL THE NEUTRAL AVENGER STRIKES AGAIN!
I can't believe I attacked his guilty butt and got away with it.
Master Necromanver managed to open the door to his home and rush inside before further damage was done. He slammed the door and locked it, and then hid under his couch and cried like a little girl. Somehow, he escaped with his life.... just barely.
That's right, I make Mafia Dons cry like a little girl. Boo-yah.

Montmorency
10-02-2011, 18:56
I knew there were inactive families! Must have been awful for the two mades before their Don was WoGed: they couldn't recruit wiseguys without a Don sanctioning their kills!
Didn't the Pentangeli recruitment notice come in a couple of days after those WoGs? And this is what was said:
"I understand the Barzini and the Tataglia also have a um... plumbing service."
"Those chumps don't have a clue. Not much evidence of their work, that I can see."
"Too many of their guys taking naps on the job. Perhaps they should be shown the door."
And so we have the Corleone, Stracchi, and Cunnio as the three active families. The Barzini and Tataglia here are implied to be inactive. So here: Necromanver was Don, got wogged. The 2 Mades in that family elected a new Don amongst themselves and began to recruit. Conclusion: The Pentangeli are either the Barzini or Tataglia, but revamped. The other family there may still be inactive, though.
Hey, ATPG, how's that mafia alliance of yours coming? How long do you think it'll be before you guys start turning on each other?
Earthling
10-02-2011, 21:16
That's just a poor conclusion, trusting a mafia family to completely know how active the members of other families are. Plus, a WoG on N4 doesn't leave much time since then for the amount of recruitment either of the clearly most successful mafia families have (Alaskans and toe-guys).
A much, much better question is why Scienter wasn't WoG'd. He clearly shouldn't have been - along with other people who haven't voted or in some cases posted in 2-3 weeks. One could guess the host didn't want to WoG more mafia members who were inactive so early but with the WoG process begun and some townies and one family crippled by it anyway, the rest should be WoG'd.
So at the least Scienter can say what's up: Constant messages from the host to get active, or an assurance that certain roles were less likely to get WoG'd? Some folks who are lurky but pop up to vote often enough you should still keep an eye on, but the ones who disappeared for weeks should be gone or killed by vig groups anyway. Those other people who very obviously should have been WoG'd are: Double A, Krill, Khazaar, dcmort, Niklas, Nightbringer, Nictel along with Scienter
Of course, both wagons leading right now are terrible for the town but that's pretty obvious. Chaotix would of course be a fine choice.
For anyone asking, the "case" against Aggony is that Sasaki wants to kill townies. People are clearly voting for that reason (we have an admitted mafia and at least three who have publicly stated they want to be Made on that wagon) and the rest just decided they'd look worse bandwagonning on landlubber instead.
That's also a weak case, as being lurkery and bandwagony doesn't condemn him alone, and the town shouldn't waste time waste on lynching nobodies when core mafia family gangsters could be lynched.
Askthepizzaguy
10-02-2011, 21:50
Hey, ATPG, how's that mafia alliance of yours coming? How long do you think it'll be before you guys start turning on each other?
We're doing quite splendidly. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen, even if it doesn't appear to be that way.
The loss of a mafia Don is a huge blow, of course. But obviously that one was inactive.
Soon I will have a new apprentice.... one far younger and more powerful.
The alliance will hold until the town is mostly mafia, or town is mostly dead. Either of those two conditions will be met shortly.
I'm afraid not too many townies are that loyal to you and your police department ilk. :laugh4: And the foolish peoples who wish to drive a wedge between the families have failed.
Sadly, it seems there are still a quaint few on a fool's errand to "save the town". But that's just it, isn't it? What does the town want?
If the town wanted to be town, then you know, 80 percent of them wouldn't already be mafia or trying desperately to go mafia. You'd think I'd be the center of such anti-town efforts, but no....
Ask around. Ask people, not the pizzaguy. Ask them yourself. In the quiet, dark, private corners of the org and their pm boxes.... what do they really want?
Do you think they say: Oh askthepizzaguy. Nothing would thrill me more than to be your mindless drone, a slave, a cog in the pro-town machine that was Capo III.
We all know how much fun that was, being out of the loop or just being a member of the common soldiery.
Nay, that didn't appeal to me, and though I had the power to do so again, it would be too easy. You know, what with the mafia alliance trusting me and so forth, knowing all their names.... being able to strike them down at any moment. Any moment whatsoever.
Worse, all the folks that want to go mafia, and those who have already progressed.... all the eggs were in one basket as it were. And as you've seen, they're more concerned with killing whoever, getting the experience points, and becoming wiseguy, than supporting the naive struggles of the police department.
Heck, even the doctors aren't interested in being part of the ultra-safe and completely boring protection ring. I could make like 6 people invulnerable right now, and that would be as exciting as watching goldfish [bleep] each other.
In short, repeating Capo III is boring. I said it, everyone felt it, and you know it Tincow.
The alliance will hold, and there's not a whole lot anyone can do about it. Oh, people have already tried to drive a wedge between them, and such efforts are being laughed at as we speak.
When the town is gone then certainly, the families shall fight to claim the top prize. Not all that surprising an outcome, given the fact that it is what must happen at that time.
But you know, and they know, the mafia win so long as an original family survives. That's an inevitability, mister Cow. Nice teats, btw.
That brings me to some point I wanted to make before I go to work; here it is.
HOW TO BE PRO-TOWN:
In Fatlington, in this game, almost every townie has a choice not to be townie. Neutrality was the default option: Don't stand in people's way. People REALLY like that, as would be evident by my current popularity and what information I wield.
What people hate is when folks tell them what to do. Such as: which alignment to take. What role to take. Who has to protect whom, who gotta die.
Well I started off not telling people who to protect or who gotta die; I left it up to them. Only in the cases of making doctors was it really necessary to coordinate, and then, that's the info people wanted to have. People also didn't bother discussing or making suggestions as to who to protect or who gotta die, and after a while, left that stuff up to me.
The difference between here, and Capo III, is that there was no threat of death if people didn't cooperate. Only if they actively betrayed their friends was there a threat of death. Nobody likes that.
Betrayal, like saying you'll go mafia and then turning around and trying to thwart others' attempts to do so; or saying you'll help someone and then running to a different family and trying to put a wedge between them with talk of endgame betrayals. Oooh spooky. :laugh4:
Yes, I know. Come on people, this is Askthepizzaguy we're talking about. your secrets are safe with me, not necessarily anyone else.
Well anyway. The way to go pro-town is to do what town wants. Sure, publicly, no one wants to say it, but I will. Townie is boring.
Being a good townie, even going surgeon? Whoopdy doo. A long, boring process of self-defense and slow lynches. How silly.
Next, to win, you gotta vig. GOTTA vig. Can't win without the vig. And what happens when you vig? Wiseguy.
Wiseguys go mafia.
So there will only be more betrayal. So messy. And this is just holding back what every Fatling really wants! Everyone besides oh I suppose about 5 players I've spoken to who are REALLY down with this whole pro-town all the way thing.
You know, it's funny, I haven't even stood in their way either. And the doctors and rogues owe their very existence to my efforts. I didn't stop the pro-townies either.
I did what I said. I'd help whoever asked. Sure I've got my own ideas, but..... I played it neutral like I said and I helped everyone. Everyone who wanted help.
And the folks who have real lives and don't have time to find partners, found partners.
And the folks who wanted to be doctor but didn't want to wait all game guessing, protected people.
And the townies whose dreams were to become wiseguy became wiseguy. Those who wanted to be rogue, went rogue.
And the scumbags; Oh the poor scumbags. You have no idea how much trouble they had at the beginning. Loss of vital members, confusion as to the game setup; everybody too afraid to go mafia.
Really, it was going to be one heck of a boring game, I tell you that. The independent efforts collapsed without any interference from me, so that was doomed. The 5 families would have been.... one of them half its current size, the others, mostly nonexistent.
Well, at this point, it's not such a bad situation really. Not only do people speak openly, and en masse, about their desire to go mafia, but they're succeeding in droves. And those who haven't gone have a clear path.
And those who wish to go townie, well, they've got bodyguards they wouldn't have had otherwise. And a whole wave of detectives to replace folks like the fallen Tincow. You know, it wasn't even me behind the downfall of those pro-town roles. And I trained the replacements.
Mmm. It's ironic, just by helping people do what they want in openly neutral fashion, I've been more pro-town than any single role or even collection of roles in the game. And yet, I've balanced that out with help to anyone who wants it.
Well I can see now that things are coming to a head; there will be accusations and soon. I welcome them.
But, it is not me who is the enemy of the town. No, I've given the town exactly what it wants.
The enemy of the town is the man of empty promises; one who tells people that he will help them do a thing and then run around and attempt to stop that thing which he supported.
You know to whom I refer.
That's volunteering and encouraging crime, and then trying to benefit from turning in the criminals. :laugh4: A bigger hypocrite, there cannot be. All under the guise of being pro-town.
Well look around Tincow. The reasonless wagons... no serious analysis done except by dead townies. The massive popularity of vigilantism. The town is thriving, really. And enjoying itself. And reveling in its inherent scumminess.
I can only stand back and watch with much appreciation for seeing the other side. I've seen the paranoid, rigid, ideological, fanatical side; heck I was its leader in Capo III.
This is a whole heck of a lot more fun. It's more fun to give the people what they want, and see what they do with it.
Oh, and I haven't gone mafia yet, as would be evident by the FPD's scans and the FBI's scans. They're your people, Tincow, they can even vouch for that.
I'm still neutral, still having a ball. It is unfortunate some folks have committed hastily to a side; because they will now find that no side will ever have them again.
Shame about that. No worries though.... it's not like they'll experience backlash. There are more important matters.
No, it is not a violent end they face, but the worst one of all.... the lonely, boring one. Can I join your groups now? No....
Can I join your mafia now? No....
Can I help you bring down the mafia? Why? Why would we trust you, traitor?
A sad, lonely ending. Aww. Sad Face.
Meanwhile, I'll be running around Fatlington in my Fedora and trenchcoat, wielding a tommy gun, laughing all the way. Folks know that's where its at. How fun it is.
I'm quite confident that everything I've done, including forge alliances between criminals, is pro-town. It's what the people want.
:smoking:
I love this town. These are my kinda scums.
I'd like to announce that I will indeed run for Director after GeneralHankerchief's term expires. Until then I have some more doctors and stuff that need forging, and I'm the one who has offered his head repeatedly to be the guinea pig to be attacked over and over.
If people would prefer a more straightforward pro-town group formation movement, they can always relax the protection on me tonight and let the vigs do their thing. Until then, they are comfortable being led by a neutral, doing neutral things.
Avenging the cause of neutrality, one slice of pizza at a time. It's so much more fun here on the dark side. Won't you join me, Tincow?
Oh right, dead. :creep: Well, the living peoples still can has cheezburger. And I intend to give it to them. With extra cheese.

No, I assumed that the Alaskans and toe-collectors were two of the Big Three: Corleone, Stracchi, and Cunnio.
And according to Pizza, we should be lynching more than half of you. Well, in that case - do what needs to be done. You understand.
And Pizza: when I heard you were going neutral, I thought you wouldn't help anyone.
Still, I think your triumphalism is a bit premature. The Mafia don't yet know everything. And no one can hide from what they don't know; not even you, Pizza. Not even you. :smoking:
FYI, if it wasn't clear, ATPG is scum and should be lynched. He is mafia and is helping to organize all the mafia families. He's essentially doing the reverse of what he did in Capo III.
But then the pro town would fall. What would happen? We need to have someone stand up pro-town. Maybe someone dead, with reveled roles?

***Warning: Long, important post ahead***
Nice post, ATPG. But here's where you go wrong: It's a lot easier to level accusations at you when it comes straight from the horse's mouth.
A few of you have probably been asking what I've been doing as Director. Well, here it is. Several nights ago I got approached by an anonymous source who told me that he wanted protection on him for the night and that ATPG was Luca Cunnio. After some nice efforts by a few people, I've concluded that ATPG is likely Cunnio, and most definitely scum. But not is he only scum, he's also the type of scum that betrays his own kind.
What follows is the culmination of a long series of PM conversations between the two of us.
Can we chat?
Like, what are you doing after you step down. Just to refresh my swiss-cheese-like memory.
You're going mafia, I would assume. Do you have a preference for a certain family, I can make introductions? Do you need to know more about each family before deciding?
Or are you going to try to do some ill-advised mischief? :laugh4:
You know me too well, I think. :laugh4: Ill-advised mischief, most likely, at least to start. Although I suppose it would be handy to have a primer on the families. Nothing too specific, just an idea of how they're all doing.
Stracchi currently boast a membership of eight, expanding rapidly.
Cunnio are at seven, expanding more slowly but steadily,
Corleone are at 7-9, they lost a member, not sure of all their numbers.
These three families are allied through me. I could place you with any of them.
If you prefer to support or oppose a certain player, I could put you on the same team or an opposing team from them.
The Tataglia and Barzini are getting a beatdown, I infer, and none of the independents are making much progress to become a family.
Well, I certainly wasn't expecting that. Guess your vig groups have been effective, to say the least. I'm not really against anyone in the game, there've been a couple of pests but not doing night actions really ever means you don't get a chance to make many enemies. :laugh4: In terms of which family I want to join purely off aesthetics, I'm ruling out Corleone and Stracci due to bad experiences in the past. Any idea what Cunnio's kill signature is? The Director needs a family that pulls off its work with style. :snobby:
Yeah, considering I did a Cunnio hit last night with my AHEM AHEM AHEM umbrella from Capo III....
Their signature is lopping off toes.
Oh, and Don Cunnio did the "Pizzaguy" kill for me. You know, alibi and stuff.
Because I'm a devious bastard and all.
Yeah, Don Cunnio does things I ask him to. *whistles innocently*
His reply:
If I'm reading this right then it's probably not a good idea that I sign up for one of the two lesser families. :dizzy2: :laugh4:
No, not wise at all, really.
So this is how it's all going to play out, I'm guessing. Leave the lesser two families to their fates, your three-family alliance that you've created by funneling the people that signed up for your groups into the families will be ascendant, and then the endgame will consist of an epic betrayal, some of it due to sheer firepower, some of it due to Cunnio moles in the other two families.
Sounds about right to me. Not exactly what will happen, though. I still haven't decided if I'm going to go Cunnio or not. I have questions unanswered by Seamus that need answering before I lock in my endgame strategy.
I'm right, aren't I? I do enjoy being right about this sort of thing. :laugh4:
I have a feeling some of my ideas are floating around as rumor. I did of course leak several competing plans, so people will have no idea what I'm really up to. And also to see where the leaks are.
If I *am* right, I honestly think I'd rather take a pass. You do your Director thing, pass the mantle back onto me when you've had your fun, and then I turn a blind eye towards everything, "gallantly" lead the town in a desperate attempt to reverse the tide, and you work the writeup with Seamus so that I have enough funds to retire to a nice little nest egg in Martinique. It's much easier to appreciate a ballet if you're in the audience than if you're a backup dancer, after all.
I actually have a fun idea if you're interested.
If you would be the Count Dooku to my Darth Sidious.... lead the anti-pizza efforts while working directly with me in secret, and then epically betraying tons of people at the end....
Wouldn't that be more satisfying?
I'm I'm wrong, I'm still going mafia, but I'll probably spend a bit of time digesting what you've told me before I make a decision.
In any case, I congratulate you on your deception, sir!
I'll help you go Made in the family I eventually end up in, so you'll win a decisive victory no matter what. You don't have to do anything except go Made, then you can retire as Director, as an arm of the winning family.
But yeah, digest, digest.
I've been having lots of fun this game.
BTW I am allied to 4 families, not 3. I just am not sure which name is the fourth yet. They're a bit untrusting toward me. I wonder why that is. :laugh4:
Town, you should vote for ATPG because he's scum. Scum, you should vote for ATPG because his plan is to betray you in the endgame for himself.
But, you say, what if it's all a ploy? Even if he's lying about this, what's the motive? Would it be any better if he was, say, The Wolf?
He claims Cunnio to me. Then, in an arrangement with our potential lynch target of the day, landlubber, he claims another equally sinister role:
I have connections to the Mob Lawyer. His function is to prevent lynches on scumbags. You're a scumbag, thing is, it's too late to protect you today.
Buuuuut.
We can protect you tomorrow. But it is a waste of his time to protect anyone besides me, unless he's sure that guy gets lynched.
So we are going to try to get you lynched except, we're going to be deceptive about it.
In this fiction, you will play the role of a big time mafia gangster, a Luca of the Cunnio family. [to protect your family's identity].
You will discuss recruiting me into the Cunnio family, with the toe-lopping kills. I'll pretend to be interested, and try to get the name of your Don and your Made, but you won't budge. I ask for a quicktopic where we can talk, and we make one, but only you ever show up. So I get all pissy.
And the story goes that I reveal you to the entire town tomorrow and demand you die.
So, the votes pile up on you, and you reveal.... you're not actually Luca Cunnio. You are THE WOLF.
HOLY :daisy:!
You ask all gangsters to contact you so you can organize the mafia under your command.
The wagon on you becomes HUGE.
Then, you survive.
Then you explain OOOPS I survived that because I'm THE WOLF you geniuses.
So, they try to lynch you again the next day and it fails AGAIN.
And I protect you at night with a mafia-aligned doctor. For the epic luls.
This is going to be spectacu-licious. Trust me, I can do all of this flawlessly.
The Wolf, for the unitiated, was a role in Capo I that had an alternate victory condition of betraying the Dons and becoming Capo di Tutti Capi. There was a similar role in Capo II, The Shadow, that had an alternate victory condition of betraying the Dons and becoming Capo di Tutti Capi.
So, to sum it up, Askthepizzaguy is claiming different roles to different people, all of them scum roles. He is mafia, he is out for himself, and he is not to be trusted. The time to lynch him is now.

I had an MSN conversation with ATPG. For some reason on my MSN he appears as Daniel%20Albert.
Populus Romanus says:
Nice plan
Daniel%20Albert says:
I will need to become Director to pull it off
here's why
I'm going to try to infiltrate a mafia family
then, I'll expose whoever I find in there, and go townie fully
I need you guys to protect the rogues
the Directorship itself will protect me
Then, we will be invincible.
Populus Romanus says:
You have my vote
Daniel%20Albert says:
I've been plotting this since the beginning
it will be GLORIOUS
I will assemble townie protect squads for the doctors, too
Populus Romanus says:
Personally, if I were a mafiosi and ATPG came down my way asking to join my family I would definently think more than twice.
Daniel%20Albert says:
hahahaa
Yeah
Especially since I claimed neutral and claimed scanned by FBI and claimed knowing docs and detectives

Oh, you mean his "I'm creating a bunch of Rogue Detectives" line? Yeah, he gave that one to me a few days back, before he changed his tune:
I'm thinking about sticking town. The deaths of the three scanners in one night has changed things a bit. Town's getting kicked around, right now it seems like more of a challenge. The pendulum's swung back the other way, in a sense.
Basically the rough outline of a new goal I've come up with over the past few hours is to create a group of Rogue Detectives. I'm not going to go full-on network, as it goes against my blood, but a minor group together that can influence things and prevent this game from running away. It'll probably take me a day or two to start setting things up though, so would you mind lending me one or two of your doctors tomorrow night? This is only until I get things set up.
Once/if I get the Rogues in order and cut the mafia back down to size, the option will still be there for them to go down the path they want, which is what allows me to be personally okay with this strategy. Basically right now I just want to keep the game as tight as I still can.
Your efforts will be redundant, GH.
I already am making a team of six rogue detectives. I wouldn't worry about the game running away either, I can almost guarantee that three of the families are having severe problems. 90% of the success is coming from two families.
Moros being lost as a Luca, one family can't seem to get a single murder done correctly, and seemingly no murders from the fifth family at all.
In short, you're worrying too much, sir. Town is in superb shape, especially with all the rogues and docs.
All right, fair enough. Though if I may ask, what are your plans for the Rogues once they achieve that status?
In spite of my organizing these efforts, I have always left it up to the players themselves what they wish to do.
1) protect
2) kill
3) make doctors intentionally
After they become doctors, rogues, detectives, or wiseguys, their career plans are their own. I can continue to assist or they can branch off and cause their own mayhem.
See, GH, promotion is hard. No one else can seem to get the job done properly. I'm here for that; I help anyone and everyone who asks for help.
Once their dreams are achieved, they go and live the dream without further interference from me.
They want to go town, they go town. They want to go mafia, they go mafia.
For your own victory, I would recommend you go mafia, however. It will always be known who went rogue, the groups that forged them are public knowledge.
As such, the mafia will have a very large struggle, but should prevail, especially with the right people involved.

That's not what he was saying, GH is probably right.
It's been obvious since Night 1 pizza has been trying to kill townies, prevent townies from becoming doctors, and lied about his whole neutral act, but like I said, it'd come out even more obviously to people on its own.
There are a fair number of townies left anyway and random wiseguys probably don't want to be killed to gain experience for other mafia crews, possibly enough for the lynch.

No, no, they have to be last in their family.
From my very small experience as a Don in CapO II i am fairly sure they can engage in vig hits, but the effort will fail because they are Dons. So why wouldnt a Don be able to do a failed hit?
As to GH, I am almost convinced, but I feel like in your 2nd post he is not claiming to be mafia, he is just giving his opinion. Was this convo from before your first post's convo?

I'll be honest and say that if ATPG were mafia, he would have told me, because I'd be a mafioso right now as well. He KNOWS I would have done anything to be a mafioso, he knows my preference for getting in the night write ups. If ATPG lied to me then I don't have much more reason to play in the game and would request a replacement, it's as simple as that, because such an agreement between me and him is beyond the game.

A Don is the leader of her/his crime “family.” Their objective is to eliminate all of the other dons in the game, and to have more members in their crime “family” than the total of innocent townies and opposing criminals, thus gaining control and becoming the “Capo de tutti Capi.” There are 5 families at the start of play: Barzini, Corleone, Cunnio, Stracchi, & Tataglia.
A Don normally cannot kill opponents during a “night” phase, and must work through others. Normally, however, they appear as “innocent” if investigated by a detective or made, so they can camouflage themselves well. Even the FBI detective is unlikely to spot them. If the Don has lost all the other members of her/his family, they may perform 1 kill per “night” phase. However, subsequent to any such killing they will be identified as “guilty” if investigated by a detective, and “criminal” if investigated by a made.
In addition, a Don is normally protected by their Luca, making them effectively unkillable. Should her/his Luca not be functioning in “protection” mode, the Don may be killed as would any other Townie.
Alright, I guess I extrapolated "can't attack" from that. Fine, so an attack by a Don will still be depicted in the write-up. Very well.
How do we know you aren't a mafioso?
Because I know ever single name of every single person I worked with and they can vouch for me.

Here is a PM sent by ATPG to all the doctors advising us not to become surgeons.
Greetings, doctors.
I am BCC'ing you all because I have a special assignment for you coming up at some point.
I have several rogue detectives and other goodies about to promote; you doctors will cover each other, and the rogues, and we will coordinate in one massive effort.
My advice to you all is to avoid becoming Surgeon; in case we fail, I'd like for you to be able to switch careers and do something else if necessary. The little bonus of counterattacking is not as useful compared to the ability to switch careers. Your choice however.
I just wanted you to know I'll do everything in my power to keep you alive until the moment is right, and we can make our move.
In return, I'll be running for Director in the next cycle. Not this one, still too busy attacking myself.
However, when these rogues and doctors are ready, it will be time for me to become Director and time for you to cover the rogues. The rogues will then annihilate the mafia.
Splendid, no? if you agree to this plan, favor me with a "hell yeah!"

It's classic pizza. Margarita Pizza, if you will. Bold to the point of suicidal, with an in-thread defense that consists of massive quantities of ungodly long posts. This is ATPG defending himself with endurance, not arguments. When he posts like this, the point is to tire you out and make you so exhausted from arguing with him that you just give up. It's not a pro-town strategy, it's a pro-ATPG strategy. As for the blatantly obvious private reveals, that's just ATPG being bold in a game that requires boldness to win. How else do you expect ATPG to act in a game where he's pursuing his own goals and there are over 100 people he has to eliminate? When ATPG offers you his head on a plate, you take it, because the who point is that he's gambling that you won't. Get it over with and move on.
