Unit Description
Round Shield Spearmen are the basic spear unit available to all factions. They are not very good, but early on they are the only spear units available to many factions. They are best used for pinning units, holding the line, and taking the brunt of charges, allowing better units to make flanking attacks. The upkeep of Round Shield Spearmen is high compared to the "native" troop types, and can cripple a small factions economy early on in the game.
