Unit Description
Highland Clansmen are the basic infantry of the Scots. With their decent charge and attack values, they are best used for flanking attacks, but their low defense means they will take heavy casualties against competent infantry and cavalry units. Highlanders do well against spear formations, and their speed enables them to close quickly with the enemy, chase annoying missile units, or run down routing troops.
Clansmen are the only "native" troop type that the Scots get, they must fill out their armies with the generic archers, spearmen, and cavalry. This limitation (with no armour piercing missile or melee units) makes the Scots one of the hardest factions in the Viking campaign.
