Unit Description
Huscarles are one of the best infantry units in the Viking campaign. They are available to the Vikings and Anglo-Saxon factions. Huscarles are elite, armoured, with good stats, great morale, and an armour piercing attack. Point them towards the enemy and watch the carnage. This is the unit that the Celtic factions fear the most, and must be countered with armour piercing missiles and infantry, usually at great cost.
Huscarles do not use their shields in melee because their axes are two-handed weapons, so they are not counted towards defense in frontal attacks.
For the Viking faction, Huscarles are the units of the royal family, instead of Royal Bodyguards.
