How about mine and ACIN´s. We had a scan on him and all he needed to do to prove his innocence was to remain inactive for the night, while the two killers would show up in the write up. He declined to do that. What might that tell you?

My finals week officially starts on Monday with a chemistry final. I have a Calc final on Wednesday and a final on Thursday as well. Earthling's claim that Arpeg is innocent due to him being a replacement is also fallacious. Any other reasons for presumed innocence?

Beefy187 - Apparently co-operating with Kage/Romanic, there being only 2 kills last night phase however complicates things. Can his actions be verified? I would hate to lose the game to someone who has been under the radar all this time.

Earthling - Lynched once but this is of course not definite proof. HOWEVER, I hate to say this, but this comment by ATPG may be proof otherwise - "Even if Earthling did not survive the lynch, you would have lost the credits anyway due to his alignment." I would lynch Earthling on principle, but at this stage it may just throw the game away...

Romanic - Attacked by Sephiroth 3 times, revived 3 innocents AND suspected GE very early, leading to his eventual lynch once a scan was arranged. If not Evil, then he must be a benevolent neutral - ignore for now.

shlin28 - Not much activity/actual contribution, but definitely innocent.

Personally, I would only lynch Earthling if the others' alibis are absolutely foolproof, sorry guys :embarassed:

And ACIN is again lying and I don't know what Kage's story has changed to, but he never told me anything of what he's saying here. He did demand I use no night actions, not even protecting myself, I asked him why and he gave no answer or reason. If the plan was literally to claim that ACIN would be scanning people that's insane - how in the world anyone could think that allowing the scum to invent a scan result helps is unknown to me. If he did scan me he'd find that I tried to steal credits from Beefy though - who had none to steal.

It is worth pointing out the mutual stealing thing, if true on Beefy's part, is identical to what happened to Winston and Arpegg who both stole from each the other night, I believe.

Now Roman, care to answer when you started to betray the town and work with Sephiroth? Or you're going to vote for ACIN today right, you refused to revive Beskar and kept trying to gain everything for your factionmates only out of laziness? To everyone else, just a reminder, every other townie does not achieve victory if just the Evil Mafia survives and it's ridiculous Roman has gone this long and not been called out by others, when he first murdered Subotan it was bad enough.

I believe shlin will actually be reasonable and we can lynch the right suspect anyway though. Just puts him in a really tough spot because he could willingly cost the town victory by just joining with the rest of the Evil Mafia for their own total victory and they would probably have it at this point. Funny part is ACIN would betray the other chaotics and they'd get no points either though.

I'm not the one not reading here. I would recommend to you reading over parts of the the thread, writeups, etc... as mentioned before.

You didn't tell me anything about a scan and certainly not that ACIN would be scanning me, which is ridiculous and something I clearly would have objected to, he could just lie about the scan and claim anything he wants about me again anyway. If he did scan me he would have verified all I did was steal from Beefy but of course he didn't say that.

I'm really really curious as to why Beefy did not vigilante anybody last night though. Such terrible townie coordination, as I said he could even have killed me and that would have settled the silly ACIN problem anyway and I wouldn't care. About others "trusting" you, it doesn't matter to me unless they explain why they do and it's not only because they want to lynch Earthling. On Kage, we don't have the same "vision" in Mafia games, and we often didn't agree on things since I revived him. Not surprised that we don't agree here again.

You can think this is all :daisy: but I want it on the record, I think the chaotics are using Earthling as an easy distraction so they don't have to speak up or participate at all. Why wouldn't you vote or in beefy's case, vote 10 cred that you know you will get back at the end of the night. It screams trying to gain a credit victory.

You are not next on the chopping block. At the time, Greyblades was not going anywhere with 70 on your name. Psycho was the next closest, so I moved there hoping Earthling would pull off of you get you off the hook - I knew we wouldn't stay with that large of a bet and in second place. Once Psycho took the lead, he did pull, and look where you are now - not even close to being in trouble.

So BL moved onto Psycho to get Earthling to back off, which he pretended to do at first, before going all in at the end.

I understand that you and kage have differences. But visor has wanted him dead and he was evil. BL asserted strongly for him, do you have differences in vision with him as well? With shlin?

The evidence is mounted high against him, and all he has is this one vote that is easily explained. Betting doesn't mean anything when he probably figured that he couldn't win a credit victory. He knew I had more credits than him he knew there was 8 other people with a fair amount of credits. If he had a partner still alive he could do it, but not by himself. So he threw out all of his credits to make himself look good and to kill me off.

Stealing wouldn't really help unless he absolutely knew who the chaotic was, and this is Earthling we are talking about so...no. Stealing would have been risky because it is easy to lose your credits when stealing. He only has like 10ish credits anyway. I didn't lose 100 credits lynching ACIN, that was the maximum bet for the day but I had less, 75 I believe, and ran out. Just don't want a misunderstanding.

I can certainly elaborate more on credits in general though. As I'd been telling you all the whole time you knew what credits I had, the night before I spent 70 vigging Skooma (with no objections from the group, but at the same time as Beefy, without being told, talk about wasting town credits, and with Kage trying to get me to kill Visorslash without a reason iirc. Also that night Sephiroth killed and silenced Kage, for those keeping count at home.) And to backtrack further for the forgetful, though since so many people actively tried to keep me out of the loop, you can't have to go that far back in PMs from me to check, that was built up stealing from Warman, and Subotan, as I told you all before that too. Back that far again shlin and I definitely discussed Subotan as shlin told me stuff about Subotan's faction and identity that I didn't know, and we knew the credits added up with what Subotan had spent in lynches and Subotan didn't have any suspicious actions outside of inactivity, but he of course was vigged by Roman. That's about my whole credit situation outside of income going back to Day Five when I was fully out of credits after that lynch too.

You're not getting this, or not being honest about it. It's in the rules on the first page.

If only members of one faction survive, even with a chaotic alive, they can achieve a total victory - both the overall plus their faction by default of course - and NO OTHER TOWNIES achieve victory. The part about "chaotics betraying other chaotics and evils betraying other evils" and so on. Either you really didn't follow what I'm saying or you're trying to deflect attention, but you voted for ACIN so assumedly it's not the latter, and I'm willing to point this out even if you now change your mind. But if you and shlin wanted to, and ACIN is Sephiroth, you could betray the town, and achieve that "combined" victory, it's been in the rules the whole time unless someone is seeing something different (BOTH your factional victory = rivals gone, but it seems also the other 3 points in team victory). Though maybe Sephiroth has some exceptions or something to that, that really seemed most applicable to a faciton with a serial killer or something achieving its own victory with all other players eliminated.

I'm not unhappy that my faction rivals are eliminated for just that secondary victory too, but then again, I wasn't the one who went out and vig-killed so many of them on his own. Psychonaut, Beefy, or ACIN as an "Innocent" "vigilante" happened to kill them for me, lucky sure, but hardly to my credit or my fault in either way.

I wouldn't go as far to say that I 'trust' ACIN, just at the time I preferred ACIN alive over Psychonaut since Psycho was out doing his own thing while ACIN was cooperative.

There's absolutely no excuse for Earthling refusing to be inactive for the night. It's fairly straightforward: confirmed townies asks you to do pushups, you don't go 'why,' you ask 'how many?' Your stubbornness is overwhelming at times. Even worse than what I'm capable of.

After last night's actions, the good news is I've figured out who the black wings killer is. Bad news? It appears we need to kill Seph today, else we lose as the writeups are getting grimmer and darker. It's do or die time (literally).

So I'm not revealing who's the Black wings killer (protip: not Earthling), since it does nothing for a mafia victory. If for whatever reason the game continues past today's update, I'll reveal and we'll handle the other threat. Until then...

The choice really boils down to Earthling or ACIN. The main points I see and have had the fat cut out of them to reduce walltext-tinitous.

Why Earthling: Survived way too many kill attempts when ATPG doesn't do bulletproof roles. Also was calling the first DE lynch a 'bad' one after it became fairly obvious DE was Chaotic.
Why ACIN: Actions are only partially confirmed, especially after the revelation players are capable of killing twice per night. Multiple scummy posts throughout the thread.
Why not Earthling: Huge money bet on ACIN to attempt to lynch him. Unless he was deliberately sacrificing a credit victory to look innocent after a whole game of pissing everyone off, I can't see him doing this.
Why not ACIN: Why on earth would he guess I scanned him when 1) multiple people knew who I was scanning each night and 2) I was alive to confirm I hadn't (and even by looking at the thread reveals, anyone could have figured out I hadn't scanned him). I don't see a Chaotic ACIN blundering this badly. This was not a deliberate lie, I think this was caused by Earthling pressuring him so much and he was hoping I had so he could shut him up.

For me, logic dictates Earthling dies. The points defending Earthling can be written off as part of some ploy to look innocent. Especially the details surrounding his survival - you state:

Bolded the interesting part. Choxorn brought it up and in classic Earthling fashion, was promptly ignored. I'll go on further with my next point, the underlined statement: What the hell does that mean? Since the start of the game? Night two, your first attack, you basically get pwned yet survive. Night three, I'm venturing a guess you purchased this protection, since there's the presence of the magical shield (and thus giving you your 25% protection). What I don't get is why you didn't elaborate further, and instead stuck with vague terminology for this one aspect. For a guy who makes a living making wild, yet very specific points aimed at others, you went with something not nearly so revealing. Why?

I suspect this is due to the way your character role is put together. I'm throwing away the theory that if you get lynched 'x' amount of times, you win, as surely with the town stumbling toward the finish line, you would have made a post claiming you could 'save' the town by killing you. After all, your claim to fame lately is stealing the spotlight whenever possible, either through bragging about your claims of nailing every Chaotic and S/K (no, btw, that was pretty much me...) or through your gargantuan text walls hogging all discussion. Going further, you've been so 'anti-Chaotic' in your posts that you would have jumped at the chance to reveal this info and prevent them from winning by winning yourself. Nope, I'm done thinking this is a legit possibility.

Instead I'm thinking more along the lines of your role itself, the Black Knight. If I had to guess, ATPG needed a way to prevent Seph from dying virtually instantly due to a random lucky vig or S/K attempt, and gave you your initial 'free' defend thyself once at night ability (probably something passive), while covering this with the role of the Black Knight. Adding to the power of the role, ATPG also gave you limited lynch immunity as well, possibly good only once, which would then reveal the Black Knight cover role. No one would really question the role surviving at night and during the day time, as after all, the role in CFC Monty Python Mafia was pretty much the same thing. I also think the purchased defense was a necessity on your part for night three (as you were now vulnerable), since by this point you had ruffled enough feathers that it was reasonable to expect you would be attacked. Again, your role, plus the shield would buy you more role credit, so hey, there's nothing to lose here except credits.

I'm basically concluding from a setup standpoint you have to be Seph. The cover you have matches the character profile I'd expect for Seph, your insistence of scanning/vigging/lynching anyone other than you, along with your insistence to wiggle into the townie network uninvited makes me feel you are the last Chaotic. That's why you need to die. Make it happen guys.

So you're saying that Black Wings is not chaotic, and if this is true, then we should discus the possibility of lynching him first since we would end up with four players remaining tomorrow (e.g. we're currently 6, one lnched, one killed by Sephiroth). If only members of one faction survive, even with a chaotic alive, they can achieve a total victory - both the overall plus their faction by default of course - and NO OTHER TOWNIES achieve victory. The part about "chaotics betraying other chaotics and evils betraying other evils" and so on. Either you really didn't follow what I'm saying or you're trying to deflect attention, but you voted for ACIN so assumedly it's not the latter, and I'm willing to point this out even if you now change your mind. But if you and shlin wanted to, and ACIN is Sephiroth, you could betray the town, and achieve that "combined" victory, it's been in the rules the whole time unless someone is seeing something different (BOTH your factional victory = rivals gone, but it seems also the other 3 points in team victory). Though maybe Sephiroth has some exceptions or something to that, that really seemed most applicable to a faciton with a serial killer or something achieving its own victory with all other players eliminated.
You're right, I was not getting it. I remember reading that rule about a single faction winning, way back when the game started but I wasn't aware of this possibility until just now. Bah, if I have to side with someone it would be with the Evil team, not my faction, if one killer is part of it.

Earthling withdrew his credits last match after I went all in with all my credits so he lost 1 and got 10 which makes a surplus of 9 that day. This on top of the 10 he had to begin with means he is actually putting down 19.

Something weird happened last night. I attempted to protect Kage (sorry Kage BTW, I missed your "defend Winston" PM and had already sent the default order to defend you).

My 40% defend others didn't fail. Nor was I roleblocked to the best of my knowledge. My defense just failed for a reason that wasn't mentioned to me, and I'd quite like to know why that was.

I understand you're so happy you have your other goals completed but that's no reason to cost the town victory. At the least I'd ask you put things into a duel for a chance of victory, but it would be nice to just lynch ACIN here because we maybe can't get him without it being unanimous anyway.

People were asking for more reasons to vote ACIN and they have all been provided before, but nobody ever seemed to have read any of them so I can repeat a couple of obvious things shlin, Roman, and the dead have completely ignored and can be immediately checked, without arguing semantics of uncertainty on what Renata knew or something:

And, he lied about the reason for his vote (since he was unvoting Zack with his fold and lied about it) and continued to lie and ignore the matter when Renata kept trying to point it out later too. Your point just makes no sense. A vote for ACIN would be appreciated. Not even asking you to go all in on credits but put him ahead and it's done. I do feel that extremely good reasons I can't be Sephiroth/the Angel have been ignored, such as the Day Five writeup just to start, but if people assume that is fake, I'd like to ask how you believe I could commit three night actions as Sephiroth, that's just downright impossible by the rules. And besides times protecting myself you guys still might believe is fake, there's no question I attacked Skooma the same night Sephiroth attacked someone AND silenced Kage.

There's also the reasons extensively disucssed before about ACIN himself. And Beefy, as you know who you are, you know someone else has to be chaotic so make your choice wisely. It's not just stuff with Renata where it could be questioned (the things from ACIN about listing lurkers as scum who were not, "if mythmonster is Innocent we'll simply kill Renata next" and so forth that *look* scummy) but actual votes that can't be explained away by misinterpretation. The easiest to spot just by a glance at the thread is his switch from Zack to YLC, noticing that Chaotix, Diamondeye, and God Emperor all pushed the bandwagon on YLC, where ACIN lied about the reason for his vote.

And so, the survivors gathered together at the center of the destroyed city. Pools of magma were creeping up the main avenues and side streets, and most of the buildings had been slowly consumed by fire.


This place no longer resembled The Purgatory. Instead, it looked almost exactly like the Hell from whence they came. They were surrounded on all sides by an infinity of hellfire, an army of the undead lying in wait just beyond the flames, smoke, and ash. The sky turned the color of blood, and was nearly covered by dark clouds. Through the clouds of billowing ash, there seemed to be only one light source.... the red hot METEOR which was rapidly approaching the city. They had only hours left before impact.


They looked around for the Angel, who was nowhere to be seen. But the tall structure at the center of the city was still standing, and inside had to be the source of all of Sephiroth's power. The atmospheric vortex continued to swirl around the twisted tower, as if channeling all of Sephiroth's rage.



The six of them stared at one another with accusatory eyes. Logically, they knew that some among them had to be innocent.

The ones that had been dead already, such as Boomerang Brother, were demised while Sephiroth was still alive and kicking. They knew that Boomer could not be Sephiroth.

Others, such as the Lord of Annihilation, had been attacked by Sephiroth himself, and managed to survive. Indeed, the tall, powerful figure had become quite a nuisance, challenging the nigh-unstoppable power of the Angelic One, and resurrecting villain after villain, to thwart Sephiroth's reign of terror.

Some, like the Satanic chainsaw-wielding maniac Josh Timman had less ironclad alibis. It was true, Timman had been out murdering at night the same as Sephiroth.... but they were never in the same place at the same time. It was known that his actions did not clear him at all. Worse, they had taken out many villains who could have aided the survivors in their struggle. He hadn't managed to eliminate any of the chaotics with his mad vigilantism... some even began to suspect that he could simply be Sephiroth in disguise, committing additional kills, assisted by the power of the TRIFORCE.

Strangely, he remained quiet for days at a time, and no one questioned his motives. At least not openly.... and if they did, it seemed that his gigantic chainsaw made them change their minds.

The God of Destruction was no less a suspect. While he, too, had been out killing at night with his ceremonial blade, this did not clear him of suspicion. What did him credit, however, was his early attempts to wipe out now-known Chaotic scumbags. Some felt that he was making too many mistakes, typical of those who were clueless among them. It was thought that if he were Chaotic, then he had given a performance that was no less than masterful. Many of the honored dead agreed with this viewpoint, even though he wasn't fully cleared. Some even suggested that the voiceless Narrator had let it slip that the possibility of his death wouldn't have ended the game. However, the voiceless Narrator warned them that such comments were accidental and open to misinterpretation by mere mortals. Still, his record for attacking known Chaotics and repeated requests to be cleared of suspicion by an accurate scan seemed to weigh heavily in his favor, even if his theories about the dead attacking the survivors seemed like perfect information syndrome.

The Knight Who Says Ni was hardly ever a suspect. It seemed that he suffered from multiple personalities, and had on occasion switched personality altogether during these trying times. Although in their past lives, these villains could remember instances of evil scumbags suffering from that exact same affliction, for no reason whatsoever, they seemed to believe that it meant that the Knight Who Says Ni was cleared of all charges.

What a silly person to think such a thing.... why, even the Narrator himself suffered from that irrational bit of thinking, in a past life or two....

Finally, there was the Black Knight, who it was rumored, never lost a battle, and always triumphed. It seemed to several people that this one was perhaps a bit too talkative, a bit too certain of the correctness of his point of view.

He also had HUGE tracts of land walls of text.

This one had been certain about the villainy of the one known as the God of Destruction for some time, and repeatedly attempted to persuade others to listen to his point of view. It was perhaps his repeated insistence on this and many other points over the weeks that began to make the others turn away... for while the Black Knight had been correct before, he had also been incorrect before, and he was still certain he alone was meant to rule The Purgatory.


He was their hero.


He was their savior....



He was also almost completely indestructible. He had been attacked before, and successfully blocked those attacks. He had been attacked and attacked, and sometimes he was not so successful in blocking those attacks. He bore the scars of many, many rounds of combat. He was nearly dead.... in fact, he was starting to rot, as blood was incapable of reaching his extremities. There were some extremities over here, and some over there. He was all over the place, really. Quite beside himself, in fact.



He was even successfully accused of being one of them..... and indeed, was successfully lynched by the mob before. Yet he survived. He survived.....


Some began to question this enormous, remarkable power. And his certainty that he was their savior.... and their hero.... while systematically helping to destroy them, one by one.




Some of them thought he might BE Sephiroth. It was also possible, perhaps, just perhaps, that this rotting corpse with medieval weaponry was more than meets the eye.....





And so, the five other survivors surrounded the one known as Earthling that is called Earthling.



They accused him of being a "silly Kniggit."



They told him to "go and boil" his "bottom".



They said his mother was a "hamster", and that his father "smelt of elderberries".



They said that he "did not frighten" them with his "silly knees bent running around advancing behavior".



He responded that they were a "cheesy lot" of "second-hand electric donkey-bottom biters". He suggested that he wafted his private parts at their aunties, and they were the sons of a window dresser.



Meanwhile, the Narrator pushed a cart filled with dead bodies through the center of town, right in the middle of the standoff.



Narrator: "Bring out yer dead! Bring out yer dead!"


Josh Timman: "Here's one."


Narrator: "Nine pence."


Josh Timman: "Here's your ninepence."


The Black Knight: "I'm not dead!"


Narrator: "What?"


Josh Timman: "Nothing. There's your ninepence."


The Black Knight: "I'm not dead."


Narrator: "Ere, he says he's not dead."


Josh Timman: "Yes he is."


The Black Knight: "I'm not."


Narrator: "He isn't?"


Josh Timman: "Well, he will be soon, he's mortally wounded.


The Black Knight: "It's just a flesh wound."


Josh Timman: "No it isn't. All your limbs have been hacked off and you've completely bled out about a week ago. It's a wonder you're not attracting rats."


Narrator: "Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations."


The Black Knight: "I don't want to go on the cart."


Josh Timman: "Oh, don't be such a baby."


Narrator: "Well, I can't take him. He's sort of invincible, you know."


The Black Knight: "I'M INVINCIBLE!!!"


Josh Timman: "Oh, do us a favor. We've been trying to get rid of him for quite some time. We think he's Sephiroth, or possibly that vampire with the medieval weaponry."


Narrator: "I can't take living people, you know that. Why did you think he was Sephiroth anyway? Didn't he get hacked to bits by Sephiroth himself rather early on?"


The Black Knight: "THE BLACK KNIGHT ALWAYS TRIUMPHS!!!"


Josh Timman: "Please? Pretty please? I mean we've done all we could to the poor lad and he's still not doing his civic duty and expiring when his life is at an end. He's a bloody torso that's out of its bleedin' mind."


The Black Knight: "I could take you lot single-handed."


Josh Timman: "You haven't got any arms left, you silly sod."


The Black Knight: "Yes I have."


Narrator: "Look, there's a rather large pile of corpses I've got to deliver to the outskirts of the city, and I'm kind of in a hurry. If you'll excuse me."


Josh Timman: "When's your next round?"


Narrator: "Thursday."


Josh Timman: "This Thursday? You mean today?"


Narrator: "If I meant today, I would have said today. When I say Thursday, I mean next Thursday."


Josh Timman: "Well you could mean the Thursday after that. I could have thought you meant next Thursday, when you meant the Thursday after next Thursday."


Narrator: "No, nonsense. There's no way I could possibly mean next Thursday when I said Thursday."


Josh Timman: "THERE!!! See? You just referred to it as "next" Thursday, when the next Thursday that's on the calendar is "this" Thursday."


Narrator: "No, because "this" Thursday is the one we're presently in. If I mean the Thursday after that, I would say "next" Thursday, since it is the one immediately after this present Thursday."


Josh Timman: "You're wrong, today is Thursday, and this coming Thursday is in one week, and the next Thursday after that is "next" Thursday."


Narrator: "Well, you're changing the parameters of the discussion. You just called it "this coming" Thursday. Surely you do realize of course that "this coming" Thursday is not the same as "this" Thursday?"


Josh Timman: "That's not the point. The point is, when you originally said Thursday, that presented a bit of a poser, because today is in fact Thursday, and when you say Thursday, by itself, that could mean either today or one week from the present date."


Narrator: "You can't just declare what the point is. I had a valid point! You're not listening. Today is "Thursday", "this" Thursday is the coming Thursday, and "next" Thursday is the next one after. That's the way it's always been."


Josh Timman: "Maybe in your hellfire-addled senile old brain, but we people from the REAL WORLD understand the difference between "this" bloody Thursday and "next" bleedin' THURSDAY!"


Narrator: "I'm the Narrator, you stupid git! I decide what's true, it's my :daisy: story and I'll tell it how I want to!"

Josh Timman: "What in the blazes was THAT???"


Narrator: "Oh, that? That's a Moderator. Legend has it that Moderators are masters of time and space, able to break fourth walls, and silence those who would dare fill their precious .org with smut and filthy language. It has been said that they can slay spambots by the hundreds, ban even the most offensive of trolls, and still maintain their suave and awe-inspiring appearance, with hardly any entrails on their dark green suits."


Josh Timman: "Astounding."


Policeman #1: "All right, stop that. Stop that. This dialogue has gone on quite long enough and it is clearly just stalling for suspense. You're under arrest for 12 counts of long and rambling storytelling, several counts of grievous and intentional foreshadowing, several counts of plagiarism with respect to ripping off other people's mafia game ideas, at least one count of deus ex machina with that whole super vague weapon reference, and 50 million counts of not making any bloody sense."


Narrator: "It's a fair cop!"



Policeman #1: "Take him away, boys."



*several policemen barge into the center of the city, and drag the silly Narrator away*



Policeman #1: "You know, I didn't always want to be a policeman, and I certainly didn't figure I'd be making my rounds on the streets of some alternate dimension, trapped in the burning fires of hell, trying to stop pizzamen from wasting people's time with excessive and gratuitous storytelling. No, my father wanted me to be a doctor. My mother wanted me to be a lawyer. But I.... I've always wanted to be...... a lumberjack. Leaping from tree to tree.... As they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia! The Larch! The Redwoods! The Mighty Scots' Pine! With my best girl by my side.... we'd sing.... sing..... SING!!!"



Policeman #2: "All right, stop that. You'll not be going into a song while I'm here. I'm charging you with aggravated and grievous continuation of unnecessary dialogue and overly lengthy narrative, and several counts of breaking the fourth wall and many more counts of telling not very funny jokes."


*Policeman #2 shoots Policeman #1 in the face, instantly killing him.*


Policeman #1: "WAUGH!!!"


Policeman #3: "I thought we were just going to arrest him."


Policeman #2: "Wrong."

And the five remaining survivors looked around and wondered to themselves.... where was the Angel? Where was the big, fantastic showdown? Where was the satisfying, climactic finish? Did they finally prevail over the forces of Chaos? Will they rescue Timmy from the bottom of the old well? And did Lassie really know he was down there, or was she just anxious to go outside for a long-awaited tinkle?

So what makes you a better candidate than me or BL?

Becuase I will be revived, and you will only have a 40% chance of being revived, unless you can provide a reason otherwise for yourself.

I'll take great pains to not reveal anything against the rules or that was not known beforehand, this can all be told to and cleared with the host before I reveal anything mistakenly or else this would have been stricken down already. I might be able to do something Beskar-style, as in where he made posts where the only content was quotes of prior posts on the game thread without revealing additional information or commentary. However, you guys should ask yourselves, what reason you have to not believe anything in the writeups or what I said myself about my character and his talents in the past. Everything I'm saying here can be figured out from only what is in the thread and the rules before.

I would ask for additional consideration of the following points which particularly pertain to the correct revival choice. Namely, we have the following mutually exclusive scenarios:

1) Sephiroth is going to win anyway, kill enough people or reach some threshold, and it doesn't matter who if anyone is revived. Therefore it doesn't matter.
2) Sephiroth is not going to win anyway, because the townies succeed in blocking or attacking him tonight and lynching him tomorrow, regardless of who is revived, so it also doesn't matter who Roman revives.
3) Victory comes down to the lynch tomorrow either way, so only credits matter, and no matter what, two townies will make more income than Sephiroth at 0 now, he can't make more than 10 credits and remaining townies will likewise have at least 10 apiece. So nobody needs to be revived for the purpose of credits, just the town would have to lynch right tomorrow, 2vs1 or so.
4) Credits/credit victory won't matter or come into play, but revival is necessary to get another body in the game and prevent a scum victory. Such as we need 3vs1 left or some threshold like that to win. Here, then, is the only scenario where the decision matters, and the only reasonable choice is to try to guarantee a townie gets revived, not just a 40% chance, so that means reviving me.

Consider the above, I fully realize that option (1) might be what happens anyway so reviving won't matter one bit, only luck on roleblocks or protects or whatever tonight. But the responsible choice that avoids an avoidable defeat if it does come down to it is to revive me, as there is very good reason that I will be more likely to be revived than the 40% chance for a random person otherwise.

There is of course option

5) Roman does want to betray the town and refuses to risk reviving anyone not on his faction.

He can choose that, but at least be honest about it.

No, I"m not breaking the rules by telling you this and that's why I can keep telling you this. If you're going to bother to try to revive someone, you should want a townie on whom it is almost certain to work successfully, outside of a roleblock/external factor, but you won't be dealing with the 40% odds you are extremely likely to fail on with others. I certainly have no clue if another revived person will even make a difference at all if Sephiroth can win at the end of the night phase regardless, but the logic is undeniable that you don't need to revive someone for the purpose of credits either, so otherwise you're risking reviving no one (a failure) for no reason. You don't need to revive someone for credits, it can't possibly hurt the town to revive me as even if you were suspicious of me I couldn't do anything, but it WOULD be another living player as a body if that happens to bring some benefit against the chaotics, rather than nobody being revived.

I still think this can be figured out with just a thorough read through of the rules and how to play again, and maybe looking over what you know or what I've said about myself and my faction. I'll do the best I can without waiting on further clarification as I can't break the rules, but found some things that will help.

First, I recommend looking at things in the the rules that we all know now are NOT fully spelled out, but such game mechanics exist. In other words, lists or explanations of stuff that happens are NOT comprehensive. Second, and this is really good as I forgot it was in the thread but I'm not revealing anything new about myself - do you remember Diamondeye's hidden talent? What does it mean if hidden talents like that can exist?

I fully agree the revive may not even matter - the game could end with the night write-up one way or another, Sephiroth dies or he wins. (I recommend again you guys try to roleblock Seon too if possible, prevent the second kill). But then there is no harm done either. What is clear, for town victory, is that you don't need to revive someone just for credits, and you absolutely have to revive someone not on your faction because the chance is too great the others die and town victory is lost. I'd like to believe you intend to help the town, all factions of townies, win so that is just the way it has to be. You could revive Greyblades or somebody like that of course, but you probably don't want to endanger your secondary faction victory. So you're left with fewer choices anyway, yes folks like Kage or Visor would be neutral to your factional concerns too, but you have no reason to be sure those revives would work just in case. I can't do anything that will hurt your chances and you should seriously consider why you'd turn down a better chance for a revive.

shlin28 stood in the center of the city, preparing for the inevitable conflict. He was wearing the Tanooki Suit, even though it had failed to stop the power of Sephiroth before. Fire Brother and Itchy and Scratchy all were unable to turn back the power of the one-winged Angel.

He gripped the mirror shield tightly, and hoped that somehow, this powerful armor would come in handy.


Then he saw the Angel walking toward him. Boomer gulped, and stood his ground. Everything happened so fast, and Boomer barely had time to react. The Angel flew in faster than the eye could see, and Boomer transformed into the invulnerable statue.


The telltale sound of metal clattering against stone echoed throughout The Purgatory. Boomer prepared to release himself from the stone form, and counterattack the Angel. But the Angel quickly sent the Boomerang Brother skyward, and prepared the familiar protection-shattering move.


The gasses swirled around Boomer, and ignited in a fusion reaction. The Tanooki suit held, but Boomer would soon need to breathe, and there was no way he could do that in the form of the statue. For minutes on end, he held his breath, but soon enough, the statue began to flicker, and Boomer gasped, as the statue reverted back to its normal state of flesh and blood.

The gasses collapsed in a massive, powerful SUPERNOVA.

Boomer's armor couldn't turn back this powerful attack, and he fell from the sky. The Angel met him halfway down, and diced him apart.

A tall, powerful figure approached the body of the fallen Fire Brother. He spoke some arcane words, and soon, the remains of Fire Brother reanimated and became just like new.

The tall figure left the scene, and Fire Brother hurried off to find a safe place to hide.

Beefy187 put on his mask, and fired up the chainsaw. He watched what had just happened to Boomerang Brother, and had the Angel in his sights.


Josh Timman: "I'm in the mood for some fried chicken wings. Time to die, feather-boy."



Sephiroth: "Oh goody, someone else wants to play. Are you prepared for the kind of pain and suffering you've earned, little man?"


Josh Timman: "You killed Satan, my lord and master. Now I shall have my revenge."



Sephiroth: "Such passion. Too bad it is wasted on the weak. Come on then, come and show me your full strength."

Josh Timman's chainsaw roared, and he charged the Angel, who simply stood there with his sword drawn, allowing Timman to approach. Josh raised the chainsaw above his head, and brought it smashing down on Sephiroth's shoulder. Timman was trying to rip Sephiroth apart, from one shoulder, through the chest, and out the other side.


The Chainsaw started buzzing through Sephiroth's armor, and managed to reach bone. Flesh and blood started spraying everywhere, as Timman tried to saw though the Angel completely.



Sephiroth: "Now die."


Sephiroth swung his blade, bisecting Josh Timman at the waist, causing the Chainsaw-wielding maniac to fall helplessly to the ground. But the madman wasn't done yet....

Sephiroth: "As you wish...."





Sephiroth flew toward the gigantic creature, which swung its massive sword, connecting with the Angel, and sending him flying into the nearest building, shattering the structure and burying the Angel beneath it.



Ganon laughed triumphantly, as he lumbered toward the collapsed structure. He began smashing his way through the wreckage, determined to find Sephiroth's body and hack it to pieces, and stomp on the remains, until he was sure the creature was finally dead. Then he heard a loud explosion, and saw what looked like half of the building heading in his direction. There was just no way to move out of the way, and so the massive wreckage struck Ganon and sent him flying across the avenue, landing in a heap on the far side of the center of the city.


Sephiroth crawled from the wreckage, looking almost completely undamaged. His armor had been torn apart at the shoulder, and he was bleeding from the chainsaw wound, but he looked fine otherwise. As Ganon got to his feet, Sephiroth shot him a confident grin.


Sephiroth: "It's amusing to watch you struggle. But I am the master of this universe. I make the laws. I decide who dies. And now, I have decided that you will die."



Ganon: "Make me."



Without saying another word, Sephiroth pulled out the 6 of Hearts card, and began staring at it furiously. The card began to burn at its edges, and Ganon began to scream in pain.



Ganon: "NO! HOW CAN THIS BE HAPPENING??? I SHOULD HAVE DESTROYED YOU!"



Sephiroth: "If only you had that kind of power. Maybe you would have been a worthy opponent. But now I see that there is nothing left in this universe that can oppose me."


Ganon screamed in agony, and dropped the Triforce, as he burned white hot and incinerated completely, just as the card turned to ash and blew away.



Sephiroth looked at the remaining cards, and noticed that there were still four left.



Sephiroth: "Impressive. Not quite good enough, but still impressive. Time to crush these weaklings once and for all."

I have to thank Seon for not purposefully costing the town victory. We know it would have cost him all of his victory points too, so he clearly made the optimal choice for himself not to help ACIN and that faction achieve total faction victory, and the the town probably got really lucky BL was revived and Sephiroth was probably denied chaotic victory here. Still appreciate the move by Seon to not try to end the town's chances out of spite.

The remaining survivors hurried inside the tall tower which seemed to be the source of the atmospheric vortex. It seemed as though Sephiroth's power was coming from inside the building.

The trio targeted Sephiroth and began the firing sequence... and then the miracle happened. Cloud and Sephiroth continued to battle, and they moved in between the Doom weapon and the falling METEOR. With sweaty palms, they pressed the "DESTROY" button, and watched the fireworks.

The Super Vague Weapon of Ambiguously Decided Doom unleashed Total Annihilation. Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and the METEOR were all caught in the path of the beam.


Cloud Strife was incinerated instantly, and Sephiroth was mortally wounded. The METEOR split apart, and most of the smaller pieces disintegrated.


The largest chunk of rock continued hurtling toward Sephiroth, and slammed the Angelic One into the lake of fire, among the burning sea of the dead.

Given that a nigh-invulnerable character also had the ability to destroy anyone at will due to the soul cards, the only solution I could come up with was to have someone without a card challenge Sephiroth. Otherwise I would have written myself into a corner.

Besides, a characteristic of my games is I like to insert myself into the narrative. As this was a nostalgia game, I felt it appropriate here.

Congrats Evil/Town/Whatever people. Unlucky ACIN, I know the pain of almost pulling off a mafia victory, only to lose at the final hurdle only too well.

Did I figure out the cards? Nope! The game was complex enough without throwing another hurdle into the equation. Apparently toward the end some people were getting close. Did I figure out the songs? There was something to figure out there :laugh4: ?

Anyway, fantastic final writeup ATPG, and an awesome game to play in from start to finish. It's definitely one of my favorite games I've had the pleasure of playing in, and in classic ATPG style it did not disappoint. Thanks for pestering me enough to finally bend and play the thing.

Special thanks to my teammates Romanic and Shlin. It wasn't always pretty, but it worked out in the end. Honorable mention to Kagemusha - I had fun scheming with you behind the scenes for that brief period we were both alive (again).

Congrats also to Renata for a well-played solo win! I'd like to think if I hadn't been so busy with work during the time you were doing your thing I would have caught on enough to stop you, but it wasn't meant to be. It was certainly a well-deserved win for sure.

I'm looking forward to seeing ATPG's postgame commentary regarding the game, as well as the perspectives of the other players. I'll comment more later, but for now I'll let the others chime in. Once again, great game ATPG!

Still gotta congratulate Seon on some of the best posts in thread though the fact that he apparently still did stuff at night makes sticking around the whole time just to WIFOM a little less impressive. Would have been a very different game if he had lived past the first night (and Renata hadn't gotten lucky enough to steal his item)

I understood very little and my only meaningful contribution was appearing innocent enough to avoid being a suspect. Nevertheless, another highly enjoyable game from ATPG, in which ACIN deserves big praise for coming so close to what would have been a brilliant victory. Despite a few hiccups along the way, the evil core of Romanic, BL and Kage also get big respect for holding it together for the win. :bow:

Edit: And, of course, I forgot Renata. Unsurprising, perhaps, given that she won the game at the same time as I joined it, but a major oversight nonetheless. Hugely impressive performance.

Already the rules have been broken twice. If this keeps happening, there will be WOGs (wrath of god, you're written out of the game).

Not because of how fast it happened, but because both of the rulebreaks were in PM's sent to me- one was MRD's not-actual-rulebreak lying to me to try to fish something out of me (I think), and the other was GamezRule, in one of his few spots of activity in the game, telling me what his faction was after faction-scanning me on night 1.
