-Two dead members of Bizarro faction had different team alliances, evil and nuetral. This means that people within ones faction may not have your team alliance's best interests at heart

- After 1 day, the game lost 14% of its players, most of them town. Ouch

- 5 murders were committed, with only 1 of the murderers being caught. This means 4 are still on the loose, except...

- There were attempted murders that went unreported, such as the scumbag who tried to gank me. Also Ironside states he had 6 attempts (obvious freebie, low chance actions) on his life which brings me to my last point:

- Either Ironside is lying, or there are 6 people who know one another's identities (whether legally or otherwise) and they are coordinating attacks. 6 attacks on 1 guy is far too many for this to be mere coincidence

I was just about to ask that same question. Day 1 votes aren't terribly useful for analysis, and it's perfectly reasonable for an innocent to believe Seon was innocent on day 1.

That is false. Only if the target is protected by a connected Town Information Network, especially as you will have use up credits in order to arrange a protection on the target and people will not be willing to part with them so easily.

Plus there would be immense pressure from town (/mafia pretending to be town) on the investigator in order to attempt to discredit them and have them lynched.

That is something I can bet on with certainty.

Also: With the amount of kills last night, mafia can afford to make the town keep using up all their credits to protect some one and they can afford to keep trying to have them killed.

I had a bit of trouble understanding what you meant until I read ironsides post.. imo he says there are at least 6 attacks this night (5 killed and a failed attack on him) . . So this thought can't be used as we are not dealing with 6 attacks stacked on ironside , as I see it.

ATPG's rules state that you only get your wager back the lynchee is both successfully lynched and guilty. I assume that "guilty" means either chaotic or neutral. I don't know if there's any other alignments at work (other than evil, of course).

Also, I didn't say that YLC is chaotic! I just said that the result of my faction scan gave me little reason to value his continued existance, especially if he's going to remain inactive.

I think what B Ray is saying is that YLC is either nuetral or mafia and a different faction than he. At this point, there is no way to save YLC unless other large votes are laid on other people or votes removed from YLC. If YLC is mafia and NOT neutral, you people are gonna lose your credits. Lesson learned. Get in on the item votes early, or when you try to make a grab you will be accused of some behind-the-scenes-johnny-come-lately-chaotic drivel. This is gonna happen every round unless people will part with their hard earned credits. These huge wagons aren't good for discussion, and while we probably won't be seeing anything of the kind tonight, suppose someone shows up late and defends themselves? Oh, sorry guy, but its far too late to save yourself, as people pile votes on you to save their credits. The best solution is to place small bets. You have little to lose that way. These 20 credit votes are ridiculous, and in addition, completely unnecessary. YLC is getting lynched regardless. Making these large bets only increases the chance of you losing a lot is he turns out not to be chaotic, which he was never explicitly stated to be.

Also, I didn't say that YLC is chaotic! I just said that the result of my faction scan gave me little reason to value his continued existance, especially if he's going to remain inactive.
In the future, we should try to say things in a way that makes it perfectly clear what you mean, which frankly, is still quite doubtful. Is he chaotic or not? Or are you being purposely unclear to protect yourself regardless of his alignment?

On another note, I disapprove of the lazy bandwagoning of YLC whose case was explicitly stated as mostly personal (faction goal maybe?) reasons.

1) He's either lurking or completely inactive. Neither of which is helpful or enjoyable for the rest of us.
2) He seems to be a "safe" bet at this point, in that I'll likely get my chips back.
3) In a past life (as the Killer Rabbit) I performed a faction scan on him. I'm not implying that he's definitely chaotic, but his death would not displease me in the least bit.

Clearly if YLC was such a big threat to evil B-Ray would not have hesitated to wait 4 and a half hours to add on the elaboration. I'm more inclined to believe that its just a "help me to complete my faction goals" thing, and B-Ray himself even confirms that he didn't explicitly say YLC was chaotic.

Nevertheless, the phase is ending, and the lynch is most definitely not going to be reversed, so in the interest of possibly getting my credit back:

Shaken by the loss of so many of their own, the villains gathered together at the center of the city to discuss which of them were the traitors. They accused each other mightily, with several candidates discussed as probable targets, but in the end, the silent one was chosen by a landslide. Further, many were so convinced of their choice, they wagered heavily against their target, leaving absolutely no margin for error.


The Angel: "Who among you have you decided is responsible for these heinous crimes?"


The villains shouted in unison.


"YLC! YLC! YLC! YLC!"


The strange figure known only as YLC stood in the shadows at the back of the crowd, glaring at them, even as their accusations grew louder and more ferocious. He said nothing.


The Angel: "Bring him before me."


The crowd looked around, unsure of the creature's whereabouts, until suddenly, one of the animals spotted him, lurking in the darkness.


"There he is! Kill the lurker! Cut his throat! Bash him in! Blood for the blood god! Skulls for the skull throne!"


They scrambled toward the lurking figure, surrounding him. Quickly, his accusers tried to subdue him, with Subotan leading the way. Many others charged forward, fighting amongst each other, trying to destroy the hated lurker. He was guilty of something, and that's all they needed to know.

The one known as YLC said nothing, but stepped out of the shadows to reveal his true form.

The advancing army didn't even slow down, but YLC gripped his weapons tightly and began hurling them at the approaching force. Many of them were smashed roughly in the head, and others were severely wounded by the painful projectiles. Still, none of this deterred the crowd, and although the creature put up a valiant struggle, we was quickly captured and disarmed, and dragged before the Angelic One.


The Angel: "YLC, you have been found guilty by your peers. Have you any last words?"


YLC said nothing, but he did roll his eyes at the group.


The Angel: "Very well. Now you shall die in a manner most fitting! Behold my power!!!"


The Angel summoned a massive amount of energy, and a beam of light fell from the heavens, landing in the center of town. From the ground came a large, green, cylindrical object. It seemed to be some kind of large sewer pipe, strangely pointing up for no apparent reason.


From out of this pipe came a familiar figure clad in red and blue, who spotted YLC and immediately stood in a fighting stance. YLC produced more weapons seemingly out of thin air, and finally spoke.


YLC: "Now ya got my Hammer Angry! Ya shouldn't have done that!"


With that, the Hammer Brother split in two and became the Hammer Brothers.

The villains were quite confused as to what the heck just happened, and why they went through all that just to defeat a foe that could barely fight back. They were tired, and much worse for wear after their failed lynch.

Great, so you really were trying to off one of the other evil factions - why would you want to kill off a confirmed but largely harmless opponent? Surely it would have been a better idea to focus on unknown but possibly more worthy lynches, like the other lurkers maybe? You (and possibly Subotan) has just wasted us a lynch :no:

And the best part is B-Ray even stated that YLCs identity was not necessarily chaotic, but one which would serve B-Rays purpose, which anyone could logically assume means that either B-Rays new role is evil with a conflicting faction to YLC or B is straight CHAOTIC. Either of those scenarios could make B-Rays statement true. What a waste of credits.

We now see that there are 5 mafia factions. We also know that factions have nuetral (and possibly chaotic, based on the game rules) players.

Since no one had a big win on lynch bets I am hoping that this means there will be fewer purchased vigilante acts. I'm sure at least one or two Chatoic have free kill abilities, but those of us who successfully defended last time are probably in the clear, as are all the winners of the shiny new items. Nonetheless, I am still expecting a very busy night in terms murders.

But I have another thing to mention now that I can - I was forced to be quiet by some rare ability, I couldn't say anything on the thread, in private messages, make item votes, or even wagers during that whole Day Phase. And whomever else was silenced, speak up, given that there were at least two of us the chances there were more probably go up greatly.

My best theory, and I'm asking Renata/others if you agree, is that ByzantineKnight caused this, possibly due to his death, may have even hit random people or he chose who to target. For one he was awfully lax talking about night actions and character details while dead...but anyway, what he posted about his character hating "noise" and wanting to quiet everyone is too much of a coincidence. At first I thought it was just one person with a night ability who targeted me specifically, and it was clear I couldn't do like anything so I didn't hang around. But now it seems it happened to Renata too, especially as I just found read a message that said while I couldn't speak any words, I could have posted "smileys" or "images" so obviously the same thing happened to Renata who went ahead and did that. I doubt this is somebody's regular night ability if this affected multiple people, but anyway, in case it happens again to someone I encourage everyone to try to post on the game thread each day, as on the other hand, everyone who didn't post today who wasn't silenced is just being a potentially scummy lurker. And if we ever find out someone still alive was behind this...stop it, cause it's very anti-town.

Wait...wha? So is this power considered a form of "roleblock" maybe? My main concern is not the inability to talk -- in fact, that is a welcome side effect based on some of the participants irritating comments -- my concern is NOT BEING ABLE TO VOTE, which basically moots a persons bank account, especially when it comes to using your own money to save yourself from being lynched.

This also means we should start discussing potential lynches during night phase, so we can put our heads together and point out ideas that others may miss come daytime when the thread is 5 pages longer.

Also, there are at least 6 factions, not 5 like I previously stated. I know because I know.

I would say the two likely targets for vigilante kills tonight is going to be Bow Wow for having the scanner, and B-Ray for leading a bad lynch. I hesitate to offer protection for Bow Wow because I cannot be certain he is town, and B-Ray even if protected is going to be a good candidate for lynch the following day.

Anyone who bought a vigilante attempt the first night is still unable to afford another unless they are also successfully stealing credits on the side. I would not suggest announcing if you have lost items or credits to theft, because you will become a target and others will know you will be impotent on lynch betting.

Don't know why some of you are acting so upset. I never said YLC was chaotic. When I placed my bet on him, I stated that he was lurking and I didn't like that. When asked for further explanation, I confessed that I had faction-scanned him and wouldn't mind if he died. I even explicitly stated that I was not claiming he was chaotic. Then every lazy person in the game bandwaggoned their bets on YLC anyway. I reminded them that I wasn't claiming he was chaotic. What more should I have done? Begged everyone to not place bets on him?

And let me remind everyone of something that seems to have been immediately forgotten after Night 1. Chaotic characters obviously have COVER ROLES! At least Seon did. That means that even if you do faction scan a chaotic player, they will show up as belonging to a lawful evil faction. So it seems to me that the only rational strategy for evil characters (at this point in the game) is to take out their rival factions. At least until we have some more circumstantial evidence to suspect a particular player is chaotic. So for all I knew, YLC could very wall have been chaotic; I just knew that I had no use for him, making him a safer bet than anyone else at the time, given my limited information.

This establishes that I squish people who annoy me :juggle2: Somehow I don't think that my character, obviously simple minded, would have an ability to stop people from making noise. If you notice, from my death writeup, the noise bothered me more than the pain.


The smaller figure was making a lot of noise, and this began to greatly irritate the towering beast even more than the tiny projectiles.

If you are curious about the writeup just read it. I think I have already established that none of the other kills were mine. There was large figure who killed classical hero used a chainsaw. Something I clearly don't use and you can look at my conversation with Kagemusha to see that I had no part in his death either. Plus its a game full of mutants, theres obviously going to be more than one.

In addition to this, from my experience, Askthepizzaguy often ties writeups together, if one character was involved in multiple actions during the night there is a reference to that in the writeups. Take for example the Star Wars one on Night One (I believe) when the apprentice was returning from a successful kill and was ambushed by a vigilante Jedi who killed him. The apprentice bragged about his previous kill and mentioned looking forward to successfully killing another Jedi for his master.

NIGHT ONE

ByzantineKnight stood proudly in the center of town. A massive figure, he felt he was prepared for anything, and felt no fear. When a familiar figure approached, the beast felt a kinship.... and immediately trusted the smaller figure. The two did not exchange any words.

Notice at the end of the writeup how we are part of the same 'mafia' family, the Dark Falls Mafia that explains the kinship I felt, I trusted the figure.


However, ByzantineKnight suddenly felt an annoying stinging sensation in his chest and arms. He looked down and saw that bits and pieces of his skin were being torn apart by tiny projectiles. Confused, the creature looked around to see what could be causing it. The beast turned toward its new friend, the smaller figure, to see if it could gain any clues. The smaller figure was making a lot of noise, and this began to greatly irritate the towering beast even more than the tiny projectiles. Unable to connect the two annoyances, the great lumbering beast roared at its new friend, as if commanding him to be quiet.

When the noise continued, the great beast lumbered forward, roaring louder and smashing up parked cars and anything else standing in the way. The stinging sensation continued. Why was his new friend not listening to him? Stop making noise! Stop it!

The figure began slowly backing up, and it began throwing tiny egg shaped objects in the direction of ByzantineKnight. These tiny eggs clattered to the huge creature's feet. It looked down, wondering what they were. They exploded, coating the giant creature with flames. The creature hated the bright light and the noise of the explosion, and it became enraged. Maybe this familiar figure was no friend at all....

Finally, the creature turned toward its attacker and tried to stomp on it, but the smaller, faster figure moved out of the way. It tried to pound the figure into the pavement, but it kept moving. Finally, the giant beast grabbed a street light and pulled it out of the sidewalk, and began swinging it at its attacker. One of the blows landed solidly, and the much smaller foe went flying, and landed rather roughly some 30 feet away.


The flashing and the noises stopped, as did the stinging projectiles.



Satisfied, the confused giant lumbered towards the fallen foe, wondering why his friend was hurting him. The beast was startled when the figure managed to get to its feet, bloodied and battered though it was. The figure pulled two long blades from behind its back, and faced the giant. The giant stood its ground, still angry and confused at the unprovoked attack. The smaller figure lunged, moving faster than any human being possibly could. It buried the long blades deep into the giant's chest, impaling the creature straight through the heart.

Reacting instinctively, the giant slammed its heavy hands together, crushing the attacker, and it pulled the small foe off of its body, snapping bones in the process, knocking the wind out of the little thing. The monster then lifted the attacker up with one hand, and slammed it roughly against the ground, trying to kill it.

Big, dumb, and powerful. Obviously with no power beyond physical blows.


The giant could take no more of this abuse, and it began to transform.... the virus inside its body activated, and the already giant, enraged creature became more and more furious, and grew to several times its already formidable size. The bellowing creature could be seen and heard all across The Purgatory.


The smaller foe weakly pulled itself to its feet once again.... astounded that the creature would not die. It looked at the giant beast with glowing, furious, murderous eyes... It produced a crossbow seemingly out of nowhere, and aimed the weapon directly at the giant's face, and squeezed the trigger.

Tied tightly to the bolt was a small cylinder, filled with a special kind of powder, and protruding from the cylinder was a short, lit fuse. The bolt impacted the giant in the eye, causing the giant to stagger. The powder then exploded, shattering the giant's face and dealing a mortal blow.


The massive figure roared with indescribable fury, its body burning, bloodied, and blown to pieces. With its final bit of strength, the massive giant uttered the following word....



"Venganza...."




The creature fell forward, swiftly and with murderous intent. The smaller attacker could not move its battered body out of the way in time, and it was crushed beneath the huge corpse of El Gigante.

Conclusion: I am Evil by which of course I mean good. I had no powers past physical strength and an incredible ability to absorb damage. I am stupid and slow on the uptake, I am huge as you can see from my ability to destroy parked cars and pick up lampposts. And most importantly there is nothing to link me to anything that happened that was bad for the town.

Now if we can start looking at real live suspects, I see three possibilities:

1) Renata is not scum and someone was trying to implicate her by pointing out her day one reasoning. She is also telling the truth that she was silenced like Earthling. Probably in an attempt to further hurt her credibility and/or her ability to defend herself.

If this is true then whoever is trying to implicate here is probably one of the first to vote her on that bandwagon, possibly anyone with a high bid on her. This person is likely the person (or one of the people) responsible for silencing Renata and Earthling. And is either Anti-Mafia performing a risky move trying to get her lynched for some reason or is Mafia and is just mislead to believe she is Anti-Mafia

2) Renata is scum and she is lying about being silenced. She actually was not posting because she was on vacation, but Earthling's claim gave her an easy excuse that also helps her credibility with the town. Seon was trying to act like he wanted her lynched in the hopes that he would be distrusted by virtue of being scum. However, when it appeared that that would not happen, he took back what he said and asked for everyone not to vote her because she would be upset with him for getting her lynched.


Don't lynch Renata! She's gonna be mad at me when she comes back! :'(

Which by the way is what mafia are supposed to do, so unless she has an awful temper I can't see why she would be so upset for him just playing his role. It also means that there is probably another scum-buddy who was responsible for starting the bandwagon on one of the other lynch options by the end of the day.

If this is true then she should be lynched immediately. After that we need to look at the other votes carefully. Anyone making high-point bids on another target is a good place to start.

Honestly, I think the best place to start is B_ray. Not only did he literally waste points on a vote for a townie, but he also said that he wouldn't mind YLC being dead. Since this was said under the assumption that he was pro-town, it is easily inferred that he was claiming YLC may be scum . Knowing this, he took advantage of the understood meaning of his words and led a large bandwagon against someone who may or may not be mafia for all he knew. On top of this he is now advocating the town split into factional fighting instead of searching for mafia. He may just be a scummy townie but he is not acting in a way that helps the town.

I'm not chaotic. But I don't really agree with your conclusions as to who is most likely to be scum on my bandwagon or off it. First, the mafia obviously could not know that Seon was going to turn up dead. Nor, him having done so, could they have been certain that accusing me would get any traction whatsoever (or be worth the trouble, if I'd been able to talk). (I don't know who silenced me, but there's no reason to expect it would *have to* be a scum power.) Seon was either being opportunistic or panicking (you take your pick from your point of view; I know it was the former), but he was clearly surprised, either way.

Therefore, any scum votes on me would not have been pre-planned, but rather, opportunistic as well.

Second, keep in mind who I am as a player, and how YOU KNOW I am going to react if I wind up the victim of a false accusation resulting in my death. Keep in mind that alignments are revealed in this game. And now figure out what the scum are going to do. Are they going to bandwagon me? Maybe, though it's risky. Are they going to defend me, knowing the case is wrong? Very possible, depending on the player. Are they going to ignore the whole thing and just hope the town bites its own rear end without them having to stick their necks out? Also very possible.

All of that will need looking at: by me if I'm alive and/or around to do it, by other people otherwise.

I would be willing to suggest that some of the first night kills and attempts were actually townies who had the kill ability and just decided to use it for the sake of using it. Since there are multiple factions, one evil has the statistical advantage of not killing one of his own faction on a random murder. At that particular time, they probably did not realize how common retaliation items were, if they even knew bout them at all.

So far the only self defense item to go up for vote has been from a guy who got lynched. There is no telling how many people were saved by defense items. We know of two. Most of the retaliation items did not work, but the killers are probably spooked nonetheless.

I think when you make "vigilante kill" a learnable skill (after multiple successes) then you will inevitably encourage people to attempt that skill in hopes of both unlocking traits and getting successes which get htem one step closer to learning it. People I am sure justify the chances of killing an innocent on the grounds that they will be much better served when they can perform the action for free.

If you did the same, that's probably our explanation, and that would definitely be some very dangerous evidence about who he is. Now, my action failed - it was an attempt to discover my hidden talent and had no effect, the thing wasn't my talent, but it could have provoked this in return.

But considering that he is, in fact, the person I'd suspect most as scum, reason enough to bring this forward. In fact, he posted some random speculation on the whole topic of silencing which usually means a scum or someone inherently interested in the matter, so in the first place I'm happy to interrogate suspicious parties for trying to silence people even if it's unrelated to the chaotics. And that's besides the fact that he obviously voted at the last minute to save Seon, and they (wifom-wise) claimed to be scum partners, and it was a terrible reason for anyone to try to lynch Renata during the past Day when it was so obvious that if anyone was guilty based on being allied with Seon, it was the Major. And now Seon's response against this hypothesis without a clue where it would go is interesting, almost as bad as Seon trying to get Renata lynched.

So a third party definitely caused this to happen to both of us (possibly more people). I'd say that third party is looking obviously scummy, doubly so since Renata almost got lynched because of them. And there's no particular hurry now, we'll hear from Renata or anyone else involved soon and see if any more evidence adds up.

True, there's no way a random townie can really know I'm legit right now, but I am telling the truth about everything I said so far, I'm just asking folks to consider the evidence as it shows up. And it's self-evident to both me and Renata that neither of us was responsible for silencing the other. I know nothing I did had anything to do with Renata, and if she randomly decided to silence me, why she would pretend to be silenced herself and nearly let herself get lynched is a mystery. I think the same would be obvious to her.

So a third party definitely caused this to happen to both of us (possibly more people). I'd say that third party is looking obviously scummy, doubly so since Renata almost got lynched because of them. And there's no particular hurry now, we'll hear from Renata or anyone else involved soon and see if any more evidence adds up.

I have no link to Seon, other than the fact that I voted with him on day one. I encourage all to go back to the end of day one, and see that it was Seon who made a max vote to put Blackadder to the point of no return. Had I voted 10 on anyone else, it would not have mattered. Before Seon voted his 10 on blackadder, I was trying to decide on which leading candidate to vote one: Seon, Blackadder or byzanitne Knight. Seon voted for Black, Black was unsavable based on numbers, so I put in a last minute vote in hopes of turning a profit because I did not fully understand the rules. If you notice on day 2 I did not vote at all, because it was pointless since I knew that YLC was likely a townie based on B-Rays post.

So the question is why are you trying to dogpile on me? Are you the one who tried to kill me last night? for reasons I won't say, no I don't think you were. You or your scummy friend failed, but it was not I who silenced Renata or you, I simply defended myself. Major, that was a bad claim the first time you insinuated it and it's still bad. True, neither of us can "prove" it right now but it doesn't matter to me. I'm going to come right out and say I fully trust that Renata didn't try to silence me and the conclusion follows she's not a scum as so much scum effort is probably behind that and her attempted lynch.

Otherwise, I doubt two independent people have this as their night ability, and I really doubt one non-scum person has a regular night ability to silence 2+ people a night, prevent them from wagering and so on. My first thought was that this was a one-time event for some other reason, but the recent theory that this related to some "nexus" of night actions really makes sense. And either of those two ways, a third person was the cause of this, that's settled here and now, so yes, I'm being repetitive about it but it's a huge sort of thing and the best lead or anything I can go after right now anyway.

I kinda said this before but I'll list all of it to be clear. It's a combination of thread voting behavior that could be easily explained by scumminess, and secondly, as I mentioned, a strong indication that you are assuming things are or are not true that are completely inconsistent with a townie Role PM.

Your first claim about siding with Seon on the lynch was that you just didn't understand how betting worked and wanted to jump in and make a profit. Really, it could be true, but we can't just take that at face value. If I had been able to post during the day at any time I certainly would have pointed this out and gone for you as a lynch candidate over Renata.

As for the second important point, there is a huge swath of evidence here that strikes me as odd. And you've been active this whole time so I don't think to me it's fair game to have overlooked the rules or your own PM or something by now, even if that's supposedly typical around here but I wouldn't know that. What you've said would indicate you are paying attention and making solid analysis of what's going on - at least, if you were a townie.

Yet then you overlook really obvious things that you'd think you would catch but a scum may let slide. You act all surprised that, say, a member of the Bizarro faction came up neutral and another evil or that "cover roles" could exist on various factions after Seon died. You suggested the "Evil Mafia" faction could have up to 8 members and this is extremely inconsistent with what I'd expect any townie's PM to suggest about any faction, their own or a rival's. I've got a really, really strong indication that at least a couple of the mafia factions total around 4 or 5 members and several other players suggest their impression is the total is around 9 or 10 factions. Yet you claimed things like "multiple factions per side" (evil vs. chaotic) and get all this way off. For any player taken in a vacuum lots of stuff like this it's an indication there's something extremely different about their Role PM, information it lacks or additional scum information it has, in either case non-townie.

And all the claims from you about vigilantes and writeup analysis have seemed highly discouraging and anti-town. Not to mention how you implied people will be killed based on how the items were voting and all the mutual alliances there. 10% self-defense or retaliation from a townie perspective doesn't lend itself to being a "big deal" but that's kinda what you imply - you're not alone on this count, but you were active in all of that item mess. You also claimed to be attacked yourself and survived, and only Ironside says he did that among other people. At the very least by the end of this phase I'd like to find out more of the truth behind that story.

As for the actual kills, maybe on aside here but it could relate to the above, I just had an observation to present. I think everyone attacked by a "dark figure" was attacked by the chaotics - the others could have been vigs, but that would be three total including Seon due to the chaotics. Looking at the kills, it seems like Seon killed ByzKnight specifically to get him off of his back in the future. Given that they had no expectation Seon were die it probably took the chaotics by surprise that he did, that conclusion is inescapable and in fact part of why so many of you voted Renata - but it could go for others just as easily.

See, here's a hallmark of a hasty scum reply. Earlier, you were basically suggesting that anyone could have had the silence ability, and it could be harmless and doesn't make them scum, Renata and myself just wound up silenced independenty of any underlying cause, etc... Yet here, you clearly imply that you believe it's a purely chaotic thing.

Is that actually what you believe? That the silencing is due to the scum? And then surely you'd be willing to go to whatever ends to get to the bottom of it if it's a clear thing to do to fight the scum? Nah, to be clear, I was calling him scum. As soon as I found out Renata was also silenced I've been working on the assumption the whole silencing ability is very scummy, in general. Your theory was a very new idea to me I hadn't thought of, but then when I realized my last night's action on Major which appeared to just be harmless could have been related, it was in part because I already thought he was scummy that I posted. Yet you also suggest that I should know based on my townie-PM that a faction can have multiple alignments, I should know that Chaotic has cover roles, and I should know how many factions and how many faction members there are? Interesting....because my townie PM had none of that info, and you would probably know that were you a townie. What it did have, was info which told me who my faction enemies are. It did not tell me who my other faction members were, nor did it tell me any of my enemies. Some peoples PMs may have had some Easter Eggs like that, but they were far and few between and for very special roles I am sure. Your argument holds even less water when one considers that the rules are there for everyone to read, and my overlooking something buried deep in the rules in no way proves what faction I am in. To the latest response - I've said from the beginning that this silencing business was particularly scummy. I never suggested it was a mundane ability of a non-scum, I proposed at the start it could have been a one-time event related to Byzantine's death but if not that, it would be a scum. As for you, Major, your responses are speaking for themselves. I posted only that, as the nexus/ByzKnight's theory would suggest I did use a night action on you and Renata or someone else might have too, hence you would have been the nexus where this silencing came from Night One. You don't even have proof to deny that, yet your first instinct was to accuse your accuser of being scum on shaky reasoning.

Yes, the actions do matter, because I dare say that a vigilante kill is significantly different than a roleblock. A roleblock would be something that a "block action" action might defeat, whereas a block action would not do anything against an attempted kill, where one would need self defense instead. So, if Renata tried to kill me, then it would make no sense that both of you suffer the same silence result from some sort of blanket affect as the makeup of the actions list indicate that this is a game of rock paper scissors and there are no blanket effects.

That's where you are wrong. The only "action" I claimed to have known about was my attempted murder. The rules state that failed attempts most likley will not get a thread write up. The rules say nothing about a player not being alerted as to his own near miss, especially if that near miss, for example, included the use of an item, or, perhaps, was due to a free "experimenation" action which resulted in learning said trait. If someone didn't try to kill a brother, then how would a brother have gotten the self defense special ability bonus? If someone didn't try to steal from a brother, then how would a brother have gotten the resist steal trait?

Look, Earthlink, just admit that you butt-xrayed Renata and almost got her lynched. It's not the end of the world, and your fellow Chaotics will probably defend you tonight. And I'm sure the guy who tried to Vig me will totally stand up and admit to it. totally. What really happened is that Earthlink used his butt x-ray on Renata and deicided to play the victim, too, knowing that if she got lynched she would be unable to talk about it afterwards and people would have missed his presence on the 2nd day. He did not post smileys or images like Renata did because he did not know it was okay, not until Renata did it, and he complained to the host that she was posting, and ATPG sent him a PM saying it was allowed. Well, Renata didn't die, and so Earthlink needed to blame someone for all of the silencings, so he picked a guy who had already stated that someone had attempted to touch his no-no the night before, and accused him of having the butt x-ray. That guy was me.

When the butt x-ray comes up for item vote, I will gladly vote this item to someone else, because it has already brought me enough grief. That's very possible, but it may also be that Earthling saw the two deleted posts and Renata's pictures/smilies - after that it won't be too difficult to put two and two together, since he would be affected by the same conditions and would have no doubt asked ATPG before/after seeing those posts. Your conclusion makes sense, but is perhaps too complicated, Occam's Razor applies here maybe?

Edit: After reading through the last pages, I think you theory can apply to Renata as well, who (from what I read) is very good mafia player and can pull off such a trick, whilst I'm assuming Earthling is quite new to this (though maybe he played at CFC?)

Also....I want to ask Subotan why he started the 20 credit wager on YLC, as it seems a tad too much just to pressure a lurker (and so I voted with him, assuming that he actually has a credible reason for doing so).

That's Earthling's first post after nightfall. He reads my image post correctly, and also mentions that he'd just gotten/read (seems to be an edit error there) a PM saying that images were allowed. ATPG only clarified that with me 24 hours or so *after* the day had begun; it makes sense that, had anyone else been the victim of the same power, they'd have also gotten an "oh by the way" heads-up from ATPG on that point at the same time. Earthling is clearly implying at least two different PMs, which makes a great deal of sense if he was a silencing victim and not a whole lot if he was the one doing the silencing.

Diana Abnoba could sense someone approaching. She cackled with evil laughter, and opened the outer doors using telekinesis.

"I've been looking forward to this...." she taunted, menacingly. The intruder approached, with green eyes burning with malicious intent. The intruder said nothing. "It's foolish to come against ME...." she continued. "You will die.... crushed by my power."

Diana Abnoba waited in the darkness of the large, empty building. It must have been some kind of warehouse; there was enough space inside the building to hold a fleet of starfighters. When she spotted the lone figure, she emerged from the darkness and began firing a massive stream of disruptor energy at the being. The beam scattered in several directions, glancing off of the figure. At this point, Diana attempted to swing her massive fists at the intruder, who deftly dodged them all. Growing frustrated, Diana opened up a massive vortex behind her, summoning anti-matter missiles, directing them toward her attacker.

The powerful being focused its mind, and caused the vortex to collapse, detonating the missiles prematurely. Diana took massive damage from the blast which followed. "AARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!" she roared, as her face began to dematerialize, exposing a giant brain-like entity.

"Only I have the brains to rule the universe!" she shouted. The intruder said nothing, but focused its energies.... summoning a gigantic swarm of meteors. The impact of the meteors caused Diana Abnoba to lose her inner shielding. The intruder moved in for the kill, unleashing its devastating weapon, striking Diana over and over again. She never stood a chance.

"If I go down, I'm taking you with me!!!!" she shouted, but the armed intruder was already gone. It was too late to stop the self-destruct sequence.

Csargo slept soundly, well-protected by his spiky exterior. He didn't seem to notice the approaching attacker until it was too late. When he woke, he saw a lean, muscular figure with huge black wings extended to either side, wielding a gigantic spiked mace in its powerful hands.

Csargo was startled, and prepared to defend himself.... by rolling up into a little ball. His attacker was not impressed. The figure swung the spiked mace with superhuman strength, and crushed the tiny animal with a sickening splat. There was nothing left of the poor creature but a bloody stain on the pavement.

The attacker said nothing, as it slowly walked away.

A man clad in dark armor stood guard, watching the events unfold from a distance. The man was approached by another strange being, who took out a weapon and blasted his arm clean off.


"It's just a flesh wound!" shouted the man in dark armor, as his attacker ran away.

Backwards Logic, wary since his brother's fateful demise, stood at the ready in case anyone tried to attack him, perched atop a large cluster of tall buildings. And this vigilance would be prudent tonight. A dark figure approached, with fiery red spiky hair, wielding a blade of some kind. Backwards Logic summoned a fireball and prepared to launch it at the intruder.

"Halt! Who approaches?"

The intruder said nothing, so Backwards Logic fired the flaming projectile, which the intruder barely dodged. The intruder continued to climb upward, as Backwards Logic rained hellish fire down upon him. The bouncing orbs did not disappear when they struck against other objects, but continued to bounce and bounce.

The path to the top of the buildings was now filled with flaming death, but the advancing figure was undaunted. In fact, the figure seemed capable of absorbing or deflecting these particular weapons, though the sheer number of them made for a challenge. As the attacker got to the top of the building, Backwards Logic unleashed a hellish storm of flaming orbs, one after the other, and they all met their target. The attacking figure was struck hard, and it fell to the ground in flames.

"Had enough, eh?" Backwards Logic said, as he prepared another volley.



The figure stood up, and its disguise faded. The figure suddenly seemed twice as tall, and far more menacing. Backwards Logic was terrified of this dark figure, and he hid inside his shell, out of pure instinct.


"Heh.... heh..... heh......" laughed the dark figure (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1EAFaro95g).


Trying to put on a brave face, Backwards Logic came out of his shell, and stood as tall as his tiny frame would allow.


"Stand back, stranger... there's plenty more where that came from."


"Puny weakling.... your weapons are mere toys. Would you like to see my secret technique of darkness, before I destroy you?"


"All right pal, you asked for it!" shouted Backwards Logic, as he prepared to fire the flaming orbs.


Instantly, the figure cloaked himself with darkness, and all the lights in the city went out simultaneously. Backwards Logic could not even see his attacker.... and now he could feel dark orbs of energy whizzing by his head. The brave little trooper ducked inside his shell, hoping to survive the onslaught.


"Heh heh heh heh.... you're no match for me. Now hold still while I finish you off...."


An orb of darkness struck Backwards Logic and sent him flying around the top of the building, spinning out of control. He was knocked clear out of his own shell, leaving him completely vulnerable. There was only one thing left to do.... attack!?


Backwards Logic closed his eyes and unleashed a furious volley of fireballs, trying to hit his attacker. But he kept missing, and the evil laughter which followed seemed to haunt him. The burning orbs bounced around the top of the building, refusing to burn out, but the light they provided was not enough to illuminate the King of Evil.

Suddenly, one of the burning orbs struck a pile of wooden crates, and the crates caught flame, partly illuminating the top of the building. Backwards Logic spotted the King of Evil approaching, to deliver the finishing blow. He dove out of the way just in time, as another fireball bounced and hit a pile of dirty rags on the opposite side of the building. Now, the King of Evil was exposed.


"Surprisingly clever, little turtle, but nothing you do will change the outcome of this fight."


The King of Evil hurled his gigantic silver blade at the small turtle, who ran as fast as he could to escape instant death. The Silver blade embedded itself in the rooftop, as Backwards Logic found his shell and hid inside it again.


"Nothing can stop me! I am GANONDORF, the KING OF EVIL! I wield the Triforce! I am INVINCIBLE!!!"

Ganondorf held the glowing item aloft, as he burned with terrifying power.


Just then, the Triforce was knocked out of Ganondorf's hand by an unseen force.


"What? What??? Who did that? I WILL DESTROY YOU!!!!! BUT FIRST, I WILL DESTROY THIS PUNY WEAKLING!!!!"



Ganondorf unleashed a hellish blast of light and dark energy, which struck Backwards Logic right in the shell, killing him instantly. The shell began to ricochet around the top of the building, along with the orbs of fire.


"HAH HAH HAH HAH......" cackled the great King of Evil.

The red shell continued bouncing, until it deflected off the ground at an odd angle, striking the great King of Evil right in the face.


"GAHHHH!!!" he cried in pain, as he stumbled backwards. He was then struck by a flurry of burning orbs, causing him to lose his balance. The dark titan fell, and impaled himself on his silver blade.


"No...... NO!!! This can't be happening.... I can't be defeated by such a.... powerless creature...."



Ganondorf attempted to transform himself using the power of the Triforce, but it was already gone!!! The Great King of Evil had been slain!!!!
