Unit Description
Arab Infantry are available to the Almohads and Egyptians during the Early and High periods. They are meant as counterparts of the Catholic sword units, but with their low armour they are more suitable to the desert battlefields. They have a small shield which helps protect them both from missiles and in melee.
In the desert, Arab Infantry can be used as front line infantry. They do well against the Catholic spear units, and can take on their sword units as exhaustion begins to kick in. It is not advisable to allow them to be charged by cavalry. Outside of the desert, they can be used as flankers but are too fragile for the center line unless they are upgraded with armour.
