Unit Description
Chivalric Knights are the main full-sized knight unit available in the campaign. They become available to all Catholic factions in the High period. Statistically, they are the same as high Royal Knights, but have 40 knights (on default sizes) as opposed to the 20 in the bodyguard units. This gives Chivalric Knights more impact and makes them less likely to get overwhelmed. The Knights of the various orders are also statistically identical to the Chivalric Knights.
Chivalric Knight tactics are the same as most Knight units: flank the enemy, charge them in the rear, repeat as necessary. Avoid frontal charges into spear and pike units, avoid polearm units unless an instant rout is assured, and avoid camels. Like most Knights, they are Elite and Impetuous, but care must be taken to avoid situations that put them at a disadvantage, they are too expensive to waste needlessly. While they carry the cavalry shield, they only get half value for it's protection.
Chivalric Knights trained in Toulouse gain a +1 bonus to valour.
In any battle, Chivalric Knights may be dismounted for Chivalric Foot Knights. This is very handy, this allows for flexibility when fighting varied enemy army compositions since the Chivalric Foot Knight is one of the better polearm units in the campaign.
