Naptha Throwers must be micro-managed carefully to ensure they do their job without killing off a lot of friendly troops. The short range of the grenade means that skirmish must be turned off for any throw to happen, and they must be positioned carefully to get good throwing angles at the enemy units. Like javelins, they are best when used against enemy units already pinned in combat, and when throwing from the side or rear of the pinned unit.
The accuracy of the grenade is poor, so increasing the valour of the throwers is important for performance. The naptha grenades are useless in rainy weather.
