Unit Description
Gothic Knights are available to the Holy Roman Empire and Italians in the Late period. They are very heavily armoured, slower than other knights, and instead of lances they are armed with maces, giving them an armour piercing attack. These differences make Gothic Knights ill-suited to the usual Knight tactics. They do not have the devastating charge like other knights, but are more suited to remaining in melee and taking down other armoured units. Their own armour allows them to remain in combat without many losses, but engaging enemy units with armour piercing weapons is not recommended.
Gothic Knights trained in Saxony gain a +1 bonus to valour.
In any battle, Gothic Knights may be dismounted for Gothic Foot Knights.
