The Galley is the first real fighting ship available to the Mediterranean based Christian factions. Like all galley-type ships, it is restricted to coastal waters. The Dromon is also available to these factions with the same build requirements, and may be a better choice for maintaining trade routes, but the Dromon cannot be relied upon to hold it's own in combat. The factions that can build Galleys must wait until the High period before better ships become available.
Galleys build in Venice start with a +1 valour bonus.
