Unit Description
Hobilars are available to the Burgundians, English and French, and can be recruited early with very low build requirements. They are not as fast as the lighter cavalry, and not as tough as their successors, Mounted Sergeants, but their cost and early availability make them useful. Hobilars should be used for quick strikes against missile units and to chase routers. They will not survive in combat against competent units, but they are better than many of the other fast cavalry units. Best utilized behind enemy lines attacking siege machines and keeping archers disrupted, but in a pinch can be used as flankers.
In siege battles, Hobilars may be dismounted for Feudal Sergeants.
